Summary:
Airing for five seasons on Showtime--making it one of the longest-running African-American TV dramas in history--Soul Food was adapted from George Tillman, Jr.'s movie of the same name, which in turn was based on his own childhood experiences in the Midwest. The series picked up six months after the events of the film, though with a new cast, led by Rockmond Dunbar, Nicole Ari Parker, Boris Kodjoe, and Vanessa A. Williams.
