A very bad copy of Rick and Morty. The humor is worse, the plots are dumber

Its not completely terrible.

The connections to Rick and Morty are impossible to ignore. Comparisons are inevitable. So this show has no chance to ever stand on its own. So on the surface you will see that its the same animation visuals asIts not completely terrible.

The connections to Rick and Morty are impossible to ignore. Comparisons are inevitable. So this show has no chance to ever stand on its own. So on the surface you will see that its the same animation visuals as R&M and the voice of Rick at the helm. So tht is going to deliver a high expectation. Problem is Solar Opposites does not have the same edge, nor the same depth. Its too reliant on vulgarity and gore for laughs. Its closer to say Final Space or American Dad with more gratiutious edgelording than it is to its forebearer.

That is not to say there is nothing worth while here. Just like the first season of R&M it takes some time to get adjusted to these characters. It takes about half a season just to separate Korvo from Rick. The Aliens are arguably the least interesting part of the show and just serve as satire for more traditional sit coms. . Its the citizens of the wall where the show shines what light it does have.

All in all its like a very lifeless and generic R&M but when it does generate a laugh its solid and a lot more enjoyable than most animated comedies of this vein. Far funnier than anything from Seth McFarlane in the last decade. So if you are REALLY needing to scratch that R&M itch, (which right now makes no sense given that this series premiered now that R&M are back for second half of season) then this can somewhat scratch it. Just do not expect a lot from it.… Expand

So I guess the mouthbreathing redditor of Rick and Morty was Dan Harmon. The horny sex pest is Justin Roiland. Yeah I do have a problem with Thomas Middleditch (and Justin Roiland) but it is better than Rick and Morty post season 2. it doesn't really pick up until the third episode but overall worth watching and miles better than season 4 Rick and Morty, that show really went down the toilet. Thought this was going to be a random humor Rick and Morty clone and it was surprisingly enjoyable to watch. really recommend watching all of it.

This show is very funny but you have to get a few episodes in. How this show pays off its season long narrative is nothing short of incredible and its worth the shaky start just for its dynamic conclusion.

Love this show so much, people who say this show hasn't got much to say when compared to Rick and Morty are obviously missing the point of a few of the plotlines. Its as funny as rick and morty, with characters who are just as lovable. While a few characters and the animation may lead you to believe this is just a rick and morty spin-off, by the end of season 1 Solar Opposites has already long escaped its predecessors shadow, easily holding its own as one of the best shows of its kind.… Expand

Looking at it as its own show, it's acceptable. The episodes are interesting and keep the viewer interested. Not mind-blowing with its characters or writing. Serves well to pass the time.

Disfruté cada minuto de esta serie, la vi en un día. Loving the new season. Steven's is nailing it, bring a lot more energy to the role than Roiland ever did. I think the creative team got a boost this year and I look forward to it continuing.
