Only main downside is that if you were expecting any answers for the disappearance of Xander's girlfriend, there are none. (I'm guessing the actress had a conflict and still is unavailable.)
I appreciate how well the show has handled Rin (Eline Powell) the mermaid's adaptation to the human world so naturally. Her growth is significant when compared to the first season. I also appreciate how well the show handled Xander (Ian Verdun), the everyman of the show. Thing is that his storylines frequently don't hook up with anyone else much and could be cut without changing anything, but he is so darn likable and relatable. I could watch him apply for a loan and I'd be fine.
