From the opening credits I immediately knew that MTV's Siesta Key was something special. Siesta Key is known for its beautiful beaches and nonstop party attitude.

But it's not only the landscape that thrills... the deep and meaningful dialog along with watching rich beautiful people who lack any sort of gainful employment is really what you came for. The show's main protagonist Alex

But it's not only the landscape that thrills... the deep and meaningful dialog along with watching rich beautiful people who lack any sort of gainful employment is really what you came for.

The show's main protagonist Alex is brimming with unbridled charisma. You can literally feel the angst and power pulsating from him as he feeds Juliette a small snail in the first scene. Brandon is electric when ordering a Rum Runner from hot new bartender Kelsey, and Garrett's 8-pack abs are sooo hot. The big moment from EP1 is Alex's party where he mixes Red Bull with Veuve Clicquot. I know what I'M drinking tonight.

Who is your favorite character? I know how you feel, it's difficult to choose!

A triumph of modern television. Move over Laguna Beach , Siesta Key has arrived.

It’s both appealing and distracting that the cast members are still learning how to have conversations on camera. The genre is mature enough to be unforgiving of such naïveté, but it’s refreshing to see unscripted awkwardness.

This is the sort of show, lacking nuance or wit, reliant on the single-entendre, that comes from a network that doesn't quite trust its audience.

Despite a Lana Del Rey-filled soundtrack, nothing on Siesta packs the emotional punch of Laguna's infamous love triangle. [4 Aug 2017, p.54]
