When students from his school begin to disappear, Souma Akizuki and his friends; Kiriya, Kureha, Hiruda, Saionji, and Seena begin searching for a cause. When Souma and Kureha meet a catgirl named Mao, they are dragged into another world that is in peril. The only ones that can save the world, are the legendary Soul Bladers who can draw blades from the hearts of others. Now fighting as a Soul Blader, Souma tries to find a way for him and Kureha to return to their world. Unbeknownst to them, Zero, the guardian of this alternate world, has special plans for Souma.
