It's a breath of fresh air; while the changes may prove jarring for those loyal to Sir Doyle's script, or to any other rendition of this popular character(s), it's still much more entertaining and well-written than a good majority of what's available on TV in the last few years.

Every episode is of movie quality. I find myself analyzing every movement of every character in hopes that i will have taken part in the intricate unraveling mystery of each episode. EVERY MAIN CHARACTER IS SPOT ON. My wife and I stare into other people shopping carts, deducing their intentions and previous motives. We all need a Sherlock in our lives.

despite the fact the latest episodes were just not as good in plot, it's fair to say that the creators of Doctor Who have reintroduced Britain's most loved detective, and done so with generally exciting, extreme and well put together programs.

Excellent show, I am waiting for more episodes. The lead actors are fabulous. I think they did a great job showing the anti social nature of true genius. Does the show have it's flaws? Did the producers sometimes try to overthink some things and paint themselves into a corner? Or did they try to fix flaws in earlier plots by rewriting things with giants holes in them? Sure, but as far asExcellent show, I am waiting for more episodes. The lead actors are fabulous. I think they did a great job showing the anti social nature of true genius. Or did they try to fix flaws in earlier plots by rewriting things with giants holes in them? Sure, but as far as Sherlock Holmes goes, I haven't seen anything better. It's certainly leagues better than the other drama crime solving shows that are so popular these days. And considering the CG driven scenes and black hole sized plot holes most shows have these days. This show is fabulous. Speaking of movies, I have been watching all of the Sherlock Holmes movies I can after this. And most of them fall woefully short of this television show. Expand

Benedict Cumberbatch is a blessing to all things performance. So much so, that I can't help but wonder why it isn't his face appearing in Metacritic's picture for Sherlock. Not that Freeman isn't also a splendid actor, but the show isn't called "Watson," is it? Just a thought.

I decided to watch the first Sherlock due to my sister really liking it and it really didn't disappoint with this first season. While before this I never read even just a page of a Sherlock Holmes book, I found myself enjoying the characters and the drama in this series. I would absolutely recommend this series to anyone; as far as I know you can find the first two seasons of this show on Netflix.

I love Marys character but at the same time its because of her major involvement that Magnuson or however you spell it was underplayed. I think in future series of this show that they need to return to the classic stuff and somehow factor in events from season 3 to do with Mary (don't want to spoil for people who haven't seen). Sherlock is, by far, one of the best TV shows I have ever seen. The portrayal of Sherlock and John is fantastic, and the plot is witty and never tiresome. However, the show is aired infrequently, with an average of 3 episodes every two years; there are only 3 seasons, 9 episodes to date.

This is a great adaptation of an awesome classic, with many elements perfectly brought to the 21st century, a great casting that delivers solid performances and clever dialogues. However, he's not the resourceful Sherlock you could expect, he relies more on deductions. He can also be extremely annoying, like a British version of Sheldon Cooper.

Episode one of Sherlock “A Study In Pink” is directed by Paul McGuigan and written by Steven Moffat. Sherlock Holmes was played by a british actor Benedict Cumberbatch and his side kick Watson by Martin Freeman. These two work very well together and when one of them doesn't know the answer the other one does. This episode turns on a rash of supposed suicides in London, which Holmes quickly determines to be murders. But the question being asked is who could be making people commit suicide? This series appeals to those who love a good mystery and it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

In the episode the London police and Sherlock Holmes’ skills are put to the test while trying to hunt down the mastermind behind the murders staged as suicides. Although some murderers are easy to find this one cleans up and doesn’t slip up, but eventually Holmes found something that leads one thing to another and everything starts to come together.

Watching this episode is like watching your favorite sports team, it’s all tied up in the last minute and it’s a nail biter. Some of the best parts in the episode was when Sherlock Holmes and the others were trying to figure out the meaning of the word the woman scratched into the floor before dying because there are many different meanings that one word has but one sticks out. Another good part in the episode was when Sherlock Holmes would flaunt his brilliance in front of others who questioned his smarts and capabilities because he showed them up every time which made it quite humorous. These parts really stuck out and caused suspense and questioning while throwing in some humor. There were really no scenes throughout the episode that were bad but some did not have to be included such as the car scene with Watson when he goes to meet Sherlock Holmes’ enemy.

This series is very good and was brilliantly thought out and written. It keeps viewers on edge and makes them want to watch more. Almost all of the scenes in the episode meshed very well together and all of the characters worked together and played their role beyond expectation. This series is recommended to those who enjoy mysterious crimes such as the ones portrayed in NCIS or SVU. This series gets a five star rating and should be more advertised.

Holmes is remembered for always using a magnifying glass for finding clues and solving crimes. Paul McGuigan does an excellent job at having Holmes use modern day technology to solve the crime. Holmes uses a cell phone as his main device to find out mostly everything. Dr. Watson (Martin Freeman), an Afghanistan veteran, joins Holmes and helps him solve the crime.
In the episode “A Study In Pink” suicide is happening a lot in town and no one knows why. The police investigate all the deaths and think it's the same person causing all the deaths in London and can’t find out so they call Holmes. Holmes gets called to a crime scene and he brings Dr. Watson with him as soon as he looks were the lady died he knows everything and points out all the clues in his head and knows instantly it's a serial killer. Everyone thinks Holmes is crazy and doesn’t know what he’s doing but the viewer can see he knows everything. Holmes does mostly everything by himself but when it comes down at the end Dr. Watson is a hero too.
Watching this episode keeps you always wanting to know what's gonna happen next. There's never a part in the episode when you just wanna turn it off the whole episode is intense. The ending is very unsuspecting but it's a very good ending like you see it coming but then you don't and watching the first episode makes you wanna watch the whole series.
I would recommend to watch the whole series because the first episode is so good. I rate “A Study In Pink” a 10. If you're in to mystery movies and always wanting a surprise this is the series you wanna watch.

Benedict Cumberbatch played an amazing role as Sherlock Holmes, teaching the audience cleverness and intelligence when investigating a serious problem. Also Dr. John Watson who was unbelievably well played by Martin Freeman, brings more of a “street smart” view to the story. Unlike Holmes, he shows the audience his intelligence by his past experiences with war and his medical field.

“The name’s Sherlock Holmes”, Holmes says, leaving Dr. Watson in awe after just meeting him. In the tv series Sherlock, a man with a very high IQ and an army doctor from Afghanistan meet each other and become partners in crime. Four suicides occur around the same time and Holmes is out to find who was behind it all. While Watson gives his input throughout the show, he plays a big role in solving the horrific case.

The episode, “A Study in Pink”, gives the audience a feeling of suspense and thriller. While watching the wonderful film, Sherlock, you are being put on the edge of your seat, feeling as if you were in the show. McGuigan puts a few laughs into the film, to catch the audience off guard. By having the main character have such a high intelligence level, it leaves the audience with mouths wide open, while feeling in such curiosity. This is a fantastic way to make a good show.

The film was definitely an amazing one. While feeling excited throughout the whole experience, lessons were taught, reality was brought to attention and the audience was left in awe. Recommending this to somebody would be a very good idea, preferably thriller seekers and investigation lovers. This film got an outstanding 9 out of 10.

Benedict Cumberbatch aka “Sherlock Holmes” , kicks off the show by showing his incredible mystery solving brain by pacing around the room and whispering clues to the mystery. Paul McGuigan has done a great job as being the director of the film. The main characters, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson keep the viewers attached to the screen.

During “A Study in Pink”, the police investigate the deaths of several people who appear to have committed suicide by taking a poisonous pill. The police could not seem to find exactly what was going on in the investigation so they turned to Sherlock Holmes for more help on solving this case. Dr. John Watson later becomes Holmes partner while trying to solve these cases. They had first met in the lab when Holmes was looking for a phone and Watson offers Holmes to use his phone for a quick text.

While watching “A Study in Pink”, it gets you so curious on to what will happen next. This then keeps you on your toes throughout the show. One of the best scenes is when one of the investigators tells Dr. John Watson that Holmes is just a psychopath and waste everybody's time., Holmes believes otherwise about that and then later on he ends up solving the crime. One of the worsts parts about the show is when Dr. John Watson enters the car and the woman identifies herself as Athea, but then admits that is not her real name then Watson just ignores it and doesn't ask any more questions.
This has simply been one of the best series out there as of now. The only flaw of this show would have to be the beginning because the show just jumps right into the case without any information on what happened before the “suicide’. This series “A Study in Pink” shall be recommended to anyone that is willing to be kept in suspense the whole time. :A Study in Pink” shall receive a 10 out of 10.

A mystery masterpiece introduces “Sherlock” episode “A Study In Pink” two sharped dressed men going thru the town trying to solve mysteries on why and how so many people were dying.

Wounded in Afghanistan while in the Army, Dr. John Watson returns to London. While Watson was roaming the sidewalks in London he came across a mutual acquaintance, Mike Stamford. Mike took John to 221B Baker Street which belongs to Mrs. Hudson. Watson became a flatmate at Mrs. Hudson apartment with brilliant private investigator Sherlock Holmes. They were investigating three identical mysterious suicides.

Sherlock got asked by inspector Lestrade to join him in an intervention for the fourth suspicious death of Jennifer Wilson. As Jennifer laid there dying she wrote “Rache” upon the floor. While Sherlock was investigating he noticed her stillborn daughter name was “Rache” not “Rachel”. Sherlock found out what the password to Jennifer's phone which led him to confront a terminally ill serial killer, who poisons people, and he is determined to make Sherlock his next victim. Watson is amazed by Holmes powers of observation at the crime scenes.

Holmes occasionally had helped the police with the mysterious investigations. All four people all who “committed suicide”. Police believed there may be another explanation due to several similarities in the crimes. After Holmes agreed to assist, he heard the most recent scene, where the victim was “A Lady Dressed In Pink” with the word “Rache” stretched into the floor boards. With Watson's assistance he provided individual assistance to Holmes. With both Holmes and Watson's assistance they were able to figure out the mysterious, terrible deaths of poor individuals.

As viewers know that detectives are critical thinkers and get tangled up in strenuous predicaments such as chasing down criminals that killed many innocent lives: Wouldn’t you like to know how they solve those cases? People who watch Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat’s episode of Sherlock “The Study in Pink” will understand the critical criteria Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson have to collect to solve these cases.
On the streets of modern day London there is a killer that made police think all the deaths were suicide. Sherlock Holmes the charmingly brilliant detective chases down the criminal. Him being a smart detective he has the ability to analyze the killer’s every move. With the help of his colleague Jonathan Watson, former military medic, they discover rather fascinating indications about the cliffhanging case.
During this show there were a few flashbacks and this was an important element to Sherlock. It showed bits and pieces to things that were needed to know, such as Watson’s military background. There were also times where it slowed down for people to understand the way Sherlock Holmes thinks. It is incredibly important for this to happen because it would be hard to understand if it wasn’t in this show. All these elements are very relevant for this show, it takes you in a little deeper to grasp all the ideas of the film.
This show had a very impressive setup. It was a huge step to do Sherlock Holmes in modern day because he was from a whole nother era. It was brilliant to do a modern day Sherlock so people can understand and relate to it better. His symbol was a magnifying glass which was not put into this film but replaced by a cell phone. This was as exciting as watching an elephant ride a bicycle.

crimes effortlessly with his ever so fast paced brain, able to memorize all the streets of London, he can can tell who you are and what you were doing in a matter of seconds.“Sherlock” the BBC series created by Douglas Mackinnon and Paul Mcguigan sets the science to what a modern day Sherlock would be like. In the first episode Dr. Watson played by Martin Freeman, he was a war vet just coming home from Afghanistan and has trouble at home coping with the effects of war. Baffled about all the suicides happening in London lately. He believes they are “just” suicides, until he meets Sherlock Holmes played by Benedict Cumberbatch. On the spot Sherlock can tell Watson was a soldier, his brother is a alcoholic and how he has a therapist. there is a lot more in the first episode.
Creating an environment where you only want to focus on the show and nothing else gives an impressive reaction to the viewers. Dr. Watson’s personality was very straightforward, but always confused about Sherlock and Sherlock Holmes is very observant. Both solving great mysteries, puts this film at a top of the list to go see. Cumberbatch and Freeman make great actors together and should be noticed more.
Sherlock uses a phone instead of a magnify glass which makes him much more different from the original “Sherlock Holmes” made in 1939. the new series was aired on July 26, 2010. well fits this role in many ways by appearance and acts skills, his on the spot role makes this series of film even better to watch. Adding a little twist and creativity to Freeman's role in his past situations with war and Cumberbatch’s cell phone idea was a great touch.

They have always made amazing partners and solve great mysteries, the original was great, this TV show is just as good, it's a must watch! This series of “Sherlock” gives amazing satisfactory to anyone who is into crime, without all the “CSI” feel to it. Anything can happen with an intelligent mind. Even though Sherlock Holmes is consider a sociopath, people enjoy his skills as abilities and this film deserves a ten out of ten.

Seeing“Sherlock” written by Stephen Moffatt and Mark Gatiss is about two men going on adventures and bringing murderers to justice. Sherlock, played by Benedict Cumberbatch and his side kick Dr. Watson, played by Martin Freeman star in the exciting drama series. Sherlock being a high-functioning sociopath and Watson being an injured Vietnam war veteran come together to solve crimes. Seeing Cumberbatch and Freeman come together and play these roles really make the show better. Their characters and personalities mesh well together making this a hilarious drama series. After watching it once they’ll have you hooked and you’ll want to watch them solve more crimes together over and over again. In this episode, Sherlock meets a war veteran in need of more money so he can keep his house. Sherlock and Dr. Watson eventually end up moving in together. Sherlock was reviewing the seemingly unrelated suicides that were happening in London when he figured out that deaths are actually murders most foul. The police find a fourth victim when Sherlock goes to check out the crime scene, bringing Watson along with him. Rushing around everywhere they go to find more clues about the murder, Sherlock finds where the suitcase is and sends a message via text to the murderer. He believes the murderer gets anxious, causing him to change his plan. They track the killers phone when Sherlock realizes it’s the Taxi driver standing in the hallway. He follows him out to the car and the driver takes him to a building to “talk” and to tell Sherlock how he made the others kill themselves. They get in the room and the murderer tells Sherlock to choose a pill, and if he picks the one that is not poisonous he will be free. Right when he is about to take it there is a huge bang!
This is one of those series that you could sit at home and watch all day. Running around usually 88 minutes, “Sherlock” is similar to other tv shows like House, The Mentalist, and The Big Bang Theory. Sherlock and his side kick Dr. Watson go on many adventures, capturing murderers along the way. “Sherlock” is like watching a baby smile and laugh. It makes you want to keep on watching and making that baby giggle again. It’s very interesting watching Benedict Cumberbatch playing the role of Sherlock. Going through all the clues very carefully, explaining them and seeing him give off a very sociopathic vibe is something very new and cool to watch him do. Some parts can be a little uninteresting and off topic, but watching Sherlock and Watson work as a team solving these crimes makes up for it very quickly, making you forget those little parts happened at all.
This series is very good and it’s appropriate for all ages. You could get your family together and have a movie night, eating popcorn and watching very quietly and intently so you do not miss anything. I think casting Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock and Watson is one of the reasons why the show flows so well. The mesh very well together, not making it very interesting to watch, but also very funny. I would most definitely recommend others to watch this show. I would give “Sherlock” a 9/10. It’s funny and interesting and i could see myself and others going back to rewatch episodes because they’re so good. Moffatt and Gatiss did a very great job on this TV show. Making it as interesting and funny as they could. Casting the characters perfectly and going in depth about the crime and following all the clues.

    The Brilliant Side of Sherlock

The television series Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is directed by the famous director Paul McGuigan. It also includes famous actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch, and Martin Freeman. This TV series is very well written, and has high suspense, which is a key detail in any good detective story. The first episode is about Mysterious deaths happening around London, which seem like suicides, but Sherlock knows they're Murders. As the case seems to come to a close from Sherlock's brilliant detective work, he meets the killer, but what comes after is full of suspense.

Sherlock Holmes meets a serious case which seems like suicides, and cannot be linked in anyway. He goes to a new scene and can detect any details that wouldn't be visible to other people at the crime scene. Holmes finds the last victim's suitcase, which has some missing items an important one is her phone. Holmes knows the killer would have it, so tracks the phone to find the murderers location. He finds out that a taxi driver is the murderer, and is taken to a very quite location, and what the murderer does next would have to be watched to be explained.

One flaw with Dr. Watson is that he needs his cane to walk because of his injury in Afghanistan, and fails to keep up with Holmes. In a scene in the coffee shop, Watson leaves his cane behind and seems to do fine without it, which can leave most viewers very confused. This episode is like a cliffhanger, you know the best part is about to happen, you just don't know how it will happen. The two best parts are when holmes figures out who the murderer is. The second one is when he thinks he finds the killer, but was wrong figures out he wrong when he confronts the man after an intense chase.

This series would be recommended for viewers who are looking for an action packed, suspenseful detective series. This TV series would get a 9 out of 10 rating, mainly because of the minor flaws. The book series originally written by Doyle are brought to life, with the same feel of any of his books. The creators should definitely continue with the makings of these shows, to bring heart pounding adventures to interested viewers.

The episode of “Study in Pink” is episode that started Sherlock and Watson’s adventures together. At some point they had to find each other. It is almost like the 1986 movie of “The Great Mouse Detective” released by Walt Disney. There is always a villain that has the same Marvelous brain as Sherlock. All the victims took the same poison, The likelyness that'll happen is little to none.
Watching about 5 more episode of this series, It was a good and a bit of rush and plot twists. If you have read some of Sir Arthur’s stories, you might be able to know how the episode will end.I give this episode e:1 of s:1, a 7 out of 10. Season 1 episode 1 “A Study in Pink” of Sherlock is taken place in London during the 21st century. The main two actors in this episode are Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes) and Martin Freeman (Afghanistan war veteran Dr. John Watson). If you are in the mood to be watching an action packed nail biting series then i'm sure you will love Sherlock.

Dr. Jon Watson only came back to London because he got temporarily hurt in Afghanistan. After agreeing to share an apartment with secret detective Sherlock Holmes, they become really good friends. Watson then sees how brilliant Sherlock really is after a recent case that Sherlock goes to invest on, so Watson helps too. The police found four people who all supposedly committed suicide by all taking the same poisonous pill. But the police think there could have been another reason for the deaths of them. Holmes then agrees to figure out this outrageous case by following up on the death of the fourth person who was dressed in pink.

Jennifer Wilson was the name of the lady in pink known as the fourth person to commit suicide. As she was laying there and Sherlock was inspecting the crime, he sees the letters ‘RACHE’ scratched on the floor next to her. Sherlock realizes that this is her password to get into her phone. By being able to get into her phone he was able to track where her phone was last. This then leads Sherlock to confront a suspicious guy. Sherlock says he knows for a fact that this is the guy that is up to the deaths of all these innocent people. He wants to make Sherlock his next victim tho.

Will Sherlock over smart the serial killer? Will the serial killer win by taking Sherlocks life? You won't know until you watch it. I definitely recommend this episode, you won't be disappointed in what you're seeing in this series. The whole time you're watching “A Study in Pink” you will be jumping out of your seat just wanting to know what will happen next. Especially the ending results.

This gripping show called Sherlock Holmes will have you on the edge of your seat and will keep you guessing at every turn. You can tell just by watching episode one that this show is one that you can simply not quit watching and one that will have your head spinning until the very end.
The first episode alone is mind-blowing, shocking, and simply thrilling to watch. In this episode, we are first introduced to Watson and then set up with the mysterious case of three suicides which all ended by the same pill, which leads to the belief that they must be linked in someway. Watson is then introduced to Holmes through an old friend where we get to see into Holmes’ brilliant mind. The two end up working together when yet a fourth person has died from the same cause and this time has left a note. This last murder though is different from the rest because the murderer has appeared to have made the mistake of keeping the suitcase of their recent victim allowing Holmes and Watson to be hot on their case. They begin to investigate, and are sent on a crazy hunt for clues, a psycho killer, and the truth behind the twisted secrets of four deaths already. This case leads them racing all over town, finding new hints at every corner they turn, and puzzling together the pieces of a complex crime, trying to figure out the mastermind behind the whole ordeal.
This episode was astonishing, a great one to want for any mystery lover, and did not disappoint the Sherlock Holmes series whatsoever. All of the characters and actors did an outstanding job at playing their role and the plot/ setup of the episode overall was very impressive. The suspense all throughout was outstanding, the story line was very intricate, and the mystery was perfectly set up. Watching this was very intense and it really had your mind spinning at various points. Despite the fact that the episode as a whole was brilliant, there were a few minor downfalls about the episode. One of them was the fact that it was very confusing due to everything seeming to occur all at once in the show and also that it was very easy to get several characters mixed up because they weren't formally introduced, these things could throw you off momentarily but really weren't that big of deal. In the end, the first episode was amazing overall despite it being a little confusion and messy at parts. In general, the series is a mind boggling one that any mystery lover would greatly enjoy to watch.
This show will have you on the edge of your seat and will make you feel as if you were one of the characters trying to solve the mystery during the show. This will make you want to watch more because it will constantly make you feel anxious for what is to come, excited for the conclusion, and sometimes even a little scared for the characters anticipating what was going to happen next. This show would be highly recommend to anyone due to its magnificent plot, the thrilling suspense, and the splendid story line that all worked together to create an overall flawless show. Overall, this show is rated five stars, due to the fact that it was a stunningly impressive mystery case that used the great element of suspense to keep you second guessing throughout the episode and glued to the screen.

The lead roles are played by Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes) and Martin Freeman (Dr. John Watson). The creators and writers are Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat.
Consecutive questionable suicides catches the attention of the people in London. A returned war veteran, John Watson, is looking for a place to stay. John meets Sherlock Holmes and is instantly fascinated by the incredible detective he is. John moves in with Sherlock to help pay the rent. Sherlock is just about to start up on the case of an apparent murder but he needs an assistant to come along. John, driven by his passion for danger and mystery on the battlefield decides to tag along. Sherlock and John find themselves in an astonishing but difficult mystery of a serial killer.
The actor Benedict Cumberbatch and the creators of the show do a great job of displaying a modern day Sherlock Holmes. They did a good job of bringing Holmes and Watson to life from paper onto the screen. The actors seemed like a good fit. The creators display the smart and clever Sherlock Holmes as a “high functioning sociopath” as said by the character, Holmes, himself in the pilot episode. Some audiences might feel as if going into and seeing Sherlock’s thoughts as he discovers things that normal people would not comprehend might be a little much on the fictional side. Although it was very interesting to get that perspective that is hard to display in writing in the books.
This episode alone gives a good impression for the series. The mysterious journey Holmes and Watson will take you on is very entertaining and will keep you guessing until the very end. I would recommend this series to anyone who is into mystery, crime, detective films. I give the episode “A Study in Pink” a seven out of ten rating. This series is a top competitor in this genre of tv shows and movies.

In the show, Dr.Watson first meets Sherlock Holmes, and Mr.Holmes tells him that they are to get a flat together. There is currently an open case of what they think is suicides, and are soon convinced they are murders due to all the deaths being caused by the same poison. Sherlock already figured they were all murders, and was soon allowed by the chief of police to help in the investigation. Sherlock wants Watson to join in. Soon found many clues and a way to find the victim's “lost” phone. But you’re going to have to watch the show to figure out what happens in the end. Needless to say, it was not expected.
Watching this show constantly leaves you sitting at the edge of your seat. You’re always wondering what’s going to happen next. You also look forward to the seeing the end and what happens overall. I personally do not belive it’s idealistic in our modern society, we would not witness anything like this in our current days. I mean, it’s possible for an absolute genius and a former army men to meet randomly and start solving crimes together, But it is highly unlikely. But overall it is an extremely exciting and exotic, thrilling.
Overall, it is a very great show and series. Even if it not as realistic as I imagined it would be reading the books, it is very exciting to see Sherlock and Watson come to life. The show is very true to itself. The actors that Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss (directors) have chosen to impersonate Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes and John H. He is THE Sherlock Holmes that no one can surpass. I'm sorry RDJ but this show is much better than your movie.

Set in the 21st century London, Scherlock Holmes a „consulting detective“ solves various mysteries with the help from his flatmate and good friend Dr John Watson, who has returned from military service in Afghanistan. Although Police inspector Greg Lestrade and others are at first suspicious of Holmes, over time his exceptional intellect and bold powers of observation persuade them of his value. In part through Watson's blog documenting their adventures, Holmes becomes a reluctant celebrity with the press reporting on his cases and eccentric personal life. Both ordinary people and the British government ask for his help. Although the series depicts a variety of crimes and perpetrators, Holmes' conflict with his enemy Jim Moriarty is a recurring feature.
I've been a Sherlock Holmes' fan for what feels like forever, and, like others, was concerned that this modern version would be a disaster. I needn't have worried. It was a terrific, fast-paced, edge-of-the-seat adventure. Benedict Cumberbatch delivered a fantastic performance in the leading role and Martin Freeman played his sidekick role very well. Cumberbatch brings a dark edginess to Holmes that gives the whole piece a delightful 'Gothic' feel, while Freeman - will make a perfect foil as Watson. Casting is so important and this combination feels just right. The series are beautifully filmed and the story with its twists and turns is very thrilling. For me the only negativity is low-budget special effects.
That said, this is my favorite adaption from Sherlock Holmes stories. The show is very entertaining and keeps viewers nailed in front of TV. Casting is very well done and the film in general is very epic. If you are looking for mystery series with hint of comedy this Tv-show is definitely for you.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Two sherlocks, One powerful mind seen in two different ways. The popular show Sherlock played on BBC is based off the popular books Conan Doyle had written about the character Sherlock Holmes and his assistant John Watson. The Sherlock Holmes in the show is played by Benedict Cumberbatch. While his assistant John Watson is played by Martin Freeman. In the first episode “ A Study In Pink” Sherlock and John meet from a friend of John’s which leads them to the flat of 221 B Baker St. Where we truly see how the characters are.
When Arriving at 221 B Baker St. We meet Mrs. Hudson, played by Una Stubbs is introduced as the landlady. As we see john gets to know Mrs. Hudson we see Sherlock read about three “suicides”. We meet a new character named Lestrade who is played by Rupert Graves. He asked Sherlock to help with the case which leads us to wonder if the newest case is really a suicide. With the information at the crime scene Sherlock thinks different. We then see that the game is truly on.
The Episode all together was very clever it kept making your mind work to see what was missing from the crime. It also was amazing to see how different Holmes and Watson were in the show than from the book. In the book sherlock seems to still take care and listen closely to the person speaking while in the show he prefers to keep to himself completely and not want to be bothered with anyone. John Also seems more closed off in the show than in the book. In the episode it was quite interesting to see Watson’s blog wasn’t about the high functioning sociopath at first. It was supposed to be about his thoughts and memories from the war. It was quite amazing to see how quickly the two people bonded with each other over the thrill of the crime case. You see this even in the beginning when Sherlock leaves for the crime scene and can’t hold back from not joining. It gives him the thrill of back in the war he missed. In the end you see that though they were strangers the thrill of the game is too much for them to stop.
So all together, in the episode we see some differences of the characters from the book but we still get the same excitement while reading the books. You can see your favorite Book Character in live action. The bond in the books can’t even be changed in the show they both just love the excitement and thought that is put into figuring out the truth behind the crimes they solve which they never stop trying till they do find the truth. Even if it means possibly risking their lives.

In the TV series Sherlock Episode 1 A “Study in Pink” Benedict Cumberbatch brings the worlds best known detective Sherlock Holmes to life and portrays his cases in a modern setting. Director Paul McGuigan magically creates these cases in a way younger generations will find them interesting and relevant to today’s society. The story line remains correct and the setting in London remains the same. You will see Holmes ditch the pipe for a nicotine patch and will see the detective using the modern technology of cell phones and computers. Dr. Watson who is portrayed by Martin Freeman is shown as being a wounded service doctor who has returned from Afghanistan.
During the episode we see how the dynamic duo of Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes develope. The viewer gets a glimpse of Holmes personal life and how he lives. The city is facing the challenge of murders that appear to be suicides but are all somehow linked. How are suicides linked? That’s the question Sherlock Holmes is out to answer. A victim by the name of Jennifer Wilson before she died left a clue that helped solve the case. She was also smart enough to leave her phone with the suspect so he could be tracked. Sherlock then finds himself face to face with the suspect. He learns first hand that the suspect talks his victims into killing themselves.
The episode is full of action and suspense. From the beginning of the episode you are locked in and feel that you are actually helping solve the crime. It’s almost as if you were taken from your seat and dropped off at 221B Baker Street. The episode shows what makes Sherlock Holmes so significant compared to his average colleagues. Holmes tends to be a pain to his peers but they need him or else they couldn’t solve the case. In the episode the team of Dr. John Watson and Sherlock Holmes develops which would be the equivalent of today’s Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute.
This is one of the best productions I have seen based on classic literary works. The details and the character portrayal is spot on and the show draws you in. You feel as if you are with the characters every step of the way and that you are also trying to solve the crime. I would strongly recommend giving the episode a watch, you will not be disappointed. I would give this episode an A.

The superhuman Khan, standing next to Arthur Dent, far, far across the galaxy. Could this be? Or maybe it was Doctor Strange with Everett K Ross, in an epic marvel smash up? Whatever your first thought was, we knew that if it had the amazing cinematography as Victor Frankenstein, along with the beautiful banter from The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, it would be easy to fall in love with this recreation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s mystery crime series Sherlock.
BBC’s series Sherlock delivers wonderfully, pleasing us with the horror of crime and the humor of sarcasm as we watch Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) struggle to understand the intentions of his new acquaintance, Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) as he is dragged into the investigation of the murder of a woman, whom had seemingly bathed in pink dye. With this story of crime and mystery, Cumberbatch contributes by delivering highly sarcastic lines while using his incredible ability to stay stoic during any situation. Watson, a retired military doctor, exasperatedly follows around his new partner, practically jumping out of his seat at the chance to once again feel the thrill of the chase. When news comes in of a suicide, a mysterious case linked to four others, we watch as sherlock takes off, gracefully explaining hidden details to Watson, mimicking Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s form of writing.
Steve Moffat wonderfully recreates the original Sherlock Novels we all know and love, one way or another. For some, it’s a beautiful recreation of something they once so feverishly read with a hunger for the answer. For others, it’s a shining key that unlocks the door to the world Conan Doyle created so long ago. Even the memorable quote made by Holmes during multiple of the original sherlock stories reappears, and we get to watch Cumberbatch calmly tell Watson that this case is a “Three patch problem”, the same way our original Holmes commonly told his partner that a case was a “Three pipe problem”. The two actors are truly a wonderful match for the detective pair, so much that they are the modern icon of the famous, british detective.
As the episode finishes up, not one bit of its initial charm is lost. In fact, quite the opposite happened. As always, our memorable detectives go on to investigate another day of crime, and we are left sitting in our seats, stunned by Moffat’s modern recreation of the wonderful detective stories created by Conan Doyle. Through mystery, through suspense, through anger, confusion, and more, Moffat did not once loose sight of the first works that featured the memorable detective by the name of Sherlock Holmes, and I am proud to say that this world of mystery will be held in the hearts of people for many, many years to pass.

This is what happens in a tv series called Sherlock, most of this series is based on drama.
The inspector better to be known as Lestrade(Rupert Graves) invites Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) who is not in the police to inspect one of the recent crime scenes. Sherlock also invites one of his friends who he just met known as Doctor Watson(Martin Freeman). Sherlock new everything about him as soon as he saw him and in the crime scene he knew a lot about the woman that others don't, then Sherlock went off to look for the suitcase that she had and her phone. Meanwhile Doctor watson was picked up by one of sherlock's enemies. The inspector went to Sherlock's house for a drug bust but he wasn't there for the drug bust he was their because Sherlock was holding evidence from the case. Sherlock found a way to trace the women's phone and found out it was right outside his house.
There is this one scene where holmes found out their was a suitcase that the lady had and no one else knew that the lady had a suitcase and starts saying to everyone “where is the suitcase” then starts dashing off to go and find it.There is show much going on in one episode it feels you're their every step of the way it is truly unimaginable. Some of the best parts where when he figured out most of watsons life in a matter of seconds and to solve the crime scene. There was only one dreadful part that was unpredictable, it was when holmes got into the car of the murder.
The series felt spectacular to watch from the beginning to the end it truly felt like they were pulling you into the episode. Most of the time the atmosphere was intense due to the fact of the drama that was going on and the clues that they were finding. I would highly recommend people to watch this series, after that first episode it made me want to watch more. I would give this a 9/10 for the amazing work they did in this TV series.

i like Sherlock confidence and abilities and techniques in his detective work. He has a cold exterior attitude towards people but still has a good will and always want to prevent anything bad happening to an innocent and is willing to give his own life for it so he can do right in terms of justice and creating stronger community

It is cinematic in the sense that nothing in it looks quite real. But it works: This is not the London known as jolly and old, but the new chilly city of glass, a place of missed connections, of aliens and alienation. And the smart dialogue and warm performances--even Holmes has a discernible beating heart, or perhaps two--keep ice from forming on the production.
