The first two episodes were a little jarring as it tried to bring the viewer up to speed on events while dealing with a galactic invasion, but quickly spun into the most intense roller-coaster ride to the very end. Fantastic.

Now this is how you end a show!

This final season superbly provides emotional resolutions for all the character arcs. It does such an excellent job of using the cast we've gotten to know and love over the show's run. Now this is how you end a show!

This final season superbly provides emotional resolutions for all the character arcs. It does such an excellent job of using the cast we've gotten to know and love over the show's run. The biggest focus is on the relationship between Adora/She-Ra (voiced by Aimee Carero) and Catra (AJ Michalka). Though the relationship between these friends turned rivals has driven the show, they're frequently separated from each other. Here we really get to see them interact and it pays.

Also, the show finally does something with Netossa (Krystal Joy Brown) and Spinnerella (the show's creator Noelle Stevenson) who up until now have been ancillary characters that were there mostly for the group fight scenes. They actually get to show personality here.

This farewell season really knows how to up the ante as Horde Prime (Keston John) and his large powerful army provide a far more serious, dangerous, and overwhelmeing threat than any of the previous antagonists. Rather than have a sympathetic side like his predecessors, Prime is straight-up bad and makes the appropriate final foe. Doesn't hurt that he is kinda creepy with a sort of glamorous cult leader vibe.

Also, the cast gets to go to space. So, there's that.

The only downside is that though everyone gets a moment and a conclusion the large cast of characters don't all have the chance to equally shine. The ending was excellent but still left me wanting to see more of what happens to the characters.

Overall, I highly recommend this. If you already love the show, you won't be disappointed.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show as a whole has really changed my life. It's not just a show. It teaches children to not judge people based on their skin color, sexuality, gender, etc. It's super inclusive- and to have canon lesbian main characters means so so much to me. I've met so many nice people through this show as well.I highly recommend. Expand

Despite some pacing issues that make it feel like She-Ra is racing to the finish line, Season 5 is solid. Ultimately, not every ship might sail the way fans want it to in the end, but the major relationships that have been developed along the way pay off with huge dividends in the final chapter, scripted by Stevenson.
