Watched the first 2 episodes, not impressed. Absolutely shockingly bad. Extremely anti-male from the get go. Women = all powerful without fault, men = dumb and useless. There is an agenda being pushed really hard and you will be ridiculed if you disagree with them. If you want to watch a decent Marvel female lead show, watch Agent Carter, back when Marvel was decent until they lost the plot.

They took a great woman hero from the comics and ruined her with modern political messaging. She's insufferable out the gate. Mary Sue 101. She gets her ego stoked by her best friend and she constantly states she's better than the Hulk. The CGI improved only slightly from the Uncanny Valley horror we got in trailer reveals.

This is a crying shame. Disney should lean more into the source

The show is good from what I can tell, it's not exactly groundbreaking but it's really good so far and still has room to grow. Don't listen to the incel snowflakes that are mad about a female lead, they usually get mad about that sort of thing turns out, that and people of color really get under their skin so I say keep up the good work. ;)

Disney continues to lose their reputation for great graphics and effects. The talent is not to blame, it's all 100% woke, condescending and lazy Disney. Let's just face it, this company will never be the same in quality again. Lightyear was a complete failure; Toy Story 4 was a disgrace, and this is their next cumbersome title to make you wish they tried harder.

The story is just bad, the antagonist useless. The context of the story is probably the worse part: it does not tie to the rest of the MCU and particularly the backstory of Bruce Banner, why? What I didn’t expect was the canonization of Captain America loosing his virginity to a show girl like some sick fan fiction, or a character saying her life is worse then a character who had just had his girlfriend killed to literally save half the universe, and the mere option of suicide denied to him after eating a bullet, how is her life worse? She gets cat called and toxic men in the work force man-plain to her. Or actually might have the chance of getting murdered be a guy who actually caused the deaths of thousands if not millions of people because of a monster he can not control. They can't even manage to put together a single action scene that doesn't look awful. The first real fight scene (the end of episode 1) is the most horribly chopped up mess I've ever seen. The entire thing looks so cheap and miserably edited.

It is simply a poor TV show, even if you ignore the continued teardown of the Hulk and the constant barrage of whining about being a female.

That sounds pretty convoluted and it is, it isn't explained very well, and there are definitely plot holes. She trains with Bruce and everything is done in this very corny, attempting to be humorous way. There are also of course woke elements to the narrative like pitting the genders against each other and addressing the issues of misogyny and sexism facing a 30-something year old woman in the legal profession. The liberal angle of the show didn't bother me as She-Hulk has always been a feminist icon, but I didn't find the humor very amusing and the stakes in the story didn't seem that high.

In long... They rushed and ruined her origin. Her acting as pretty poor. The plot device on Hulk in order to change her origin was lazy, and poorly written. Degrading The Hulk to try and make her look better is just activist bs.
Jen is basically obnoxious and completely unlikeable. That courtroom scene was like something from the CW, omg it was cringe

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really enjoyed the first episode of this show, but I think I'm enjoying reading all the negative reviews even more. Chefs kiss to people's online egos. So many angry voices "Hulking Out." As it stands I can understand why it's become polarizing, but I have to disagree with a lot of the sentiment that this is JUST a "women good, men bad" commentary. It was really fun. I loved that she was in control and not as flawed a character as Bruce. The CGI characters aren't great, but I don't care. I think I like it more than the painted Lue Ferrigno.
Now - I'm trying not to talk down to those who think this is woke propaganda. It's fine if you feel that way, but if this is the first time that you've heard the idea that women deal with fear and anger on a daily basis because of how they are treated in our society then congratulation. You are likely male and don't normally have these daily interactions. You have the option here to experience empathy, move on and get the other points the show makes about how being a hero isn't a choice. OR you can rant about how this show has offended you by writing about it on line. This reminds me of the time I saw the RHCP freak a studio runner out by sandwiching him and joking about what they wanted to do to him "romantically." It was all a joke, but he'd never been in that situation and took it seriously. He went home shaking, crying and didn't come back to the studio EVER. That fear of what happened to him from more "powerful" people made him feel small for the first time and it broke him. A vast majority of females experienced this so much more in our society and they just deal with it. These situation doesn't always get the exposer or voice that this show has given it, and it still managed to show a side of Smart Hulk that we haven't seen yet. Pretty great. Also, Tatiana Maslany rules.

I checked. This is not the 2009 she-hulk show. But it ain't much better, folks. What has happened to the MCU since Infinity War? Did they review the data and conclude that quality just does not pay? And if so, how do you make money while attacking a large portion of your viewing audience? I mean, the math just doesn't work...

The first Disney Marvel series I've enjoyed. Colourful and fun. A degree of identity politics in that the lead mainly defines herself in context of being a woman rather than an individual with her own challenges and obstacles, but Tatiana Maslany's strong performance and Jessica Gao's witty script elevate the clichés. Might actually finish this one.

Honestly I don't think it's fair to call this show bad based off of the first episode. As far as pilots go it built up the character well enough. I like the character of She-Hulk from the comics so I'm excited to see where it goes from here. It's fine really, the CGI wasn't amazing but it's not like it was an offense to the senses like some of the other people here are saying. Really it's... fine.

Let me start by saying I have NOT read the comics so I can't judge based on those!

I found this to be a fun tone shift from the usually more serious Marvel series, it has a whimsical spirit about it.

Why does this show need low brow humor and the need to berate the other Marvel characters?. It's totally unnecessary and really shows the respect the writers have for those who laid the solid foundations for the MCU. I watched this purely since my son who is a massive Hulk fan, wanted to see him in this show. After the first episode finished, I didn't have much to say since I couldn't engage with the main character, not to mention the poor CGI on her which makes the whole thing look cheap. I also despised the feminist tone the show took. My son has already made his mind up also, he wasn't bothered whether the saw the next episode.
I'm familiar with the character of She-Hulk so don't understand the need to change her origin story and turn this into basically a mouthpiece for the writers to self-project their insecurities.
    The Marvel decline continues.

Yes there are moments in the 1st episode that are cringe-worthy, such as everything She-Hulk does has to be better and stronger than Hulk, but then the Bruce Banner character is very much the straight man to the comedy lead.

Kinda like how they wasted Christian Bale in Love and Thunder. She should have been used in a MCU movie 5 years ago before they changed the formula. I really couldn't make it passed the first episode. I literally got 27 minutes in before I just decided to tune out. I came here to write my review instead. Maybe if Disney pays me to finish it then I'll get it a good review haha.

But yeah, this show definitely is a sign that the MCU needs to go on Hiatus for about 4 years. Come out with Wakanda Forever in November and just announce it's time for a break. It won't happen obviously because Disney and Kevin Feige will milk it all dry but by 2027 the MCU will be so burnt out it'll be nothing but a fever dream. It's the healthier option at this point. It's time for the audience and fans to invest in different hobbies. This show just wasn't watchable and isn't really adding anything new to the MCU that fans haven't seen within the movies. They massacred Hulk even though the MCU has been doing that for years. It's honestly really unfortunate what they've done to him. I give this show a hard pass and I have absolutely no interest in continuing it.

First off, I don't think this show is intentionally bad. The characters are quirky and likeable, and there are good attempts of humor that might have landed if it didn't try so hard. There are also several moments of easter eggs and references that I found charming in an MCU product. The showrunners clearly had a goal of Aly Mcbeal meets super heroes then it takes a bizarre left turn in to degrading other super heroes.

The problem, however, is in the execution. The story is just messy. Jennifer just like appears in Bruce's life, for the past decade he's been this nomad type with no real personal attachment to any one (except Black Widow). Addressing the elephant in the room though the CGI of every character hurts a lot of feelings and very unnecessary. The actress Malia Arrayah got the most raw deal, so she is the foundation of the "she-hulk" design. But she's deep faked and altered instead of doing a Ferrigno and its hard to watch.

I loved how it showed a woman's emotional strength, because we deal with it all the time. It was also nice how Bruce demonstrated that he is clearly stronger than her with that big rock. It would have been bad if they'd implied that she was better than him. She's not better, just different strengths and weaknesses and I think it celebrates that.

It is Maslany who brings the most energy to the show, hating her nickname because it's a derivative of a man's and breaking the fourth wall Fleabag-style. I will say that the bits when she is alone with Banner at his beach hideout drag somewhat, and it's silly quite a lot of the time, but it succeeds. A superhero tale with a serious message but which doesn't take itself too seriously.
