Essentially, Shameless is still Shameless: A raucous, shocking, moral battleground, a family comedy taken to twisted extremes, boosted by a uniformly fine cast, and consistently entertaining.

The story races forward happily and aggressively, but none of the plot strands among the many characters is ever dropped or given short shrift.

Exec producers Paul Abbott and John Wells deliver dark humor, a full heart and a real desire to illustrate--no matter how outlandishly--just how difficult it is for impoverished families to make ends meet.

The whole cast throughout this series, particularly this season, deliver amazing performances every episode. Season 3 of Shameless is the best one yet, extremely funny and very emotional, leading up to what I think is the best episode so far: "Survival of the Fittest" (Ep. 12, Season Finale). I have no idea why this show doesn't get more award recognition, this show is as good as anything else on television (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Homeland, etc.). If you have not watched this show, please do, because you are missing out on an outstanding series. Full Review »

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Shameless is still one of my top 5 favorite comedy shows of all time, one of my top 5 favorite drama shows of all time, and overall one of my favorite shows of all time. The was another season of perfectly blended comedy and drama, within all of the chaos, tragedy, and laughs this show is a really deep, beautiful, and touching show. Another season where Emmy Rossum gives another standout and emotionally deep and powerful performance. Performances from Noel Fisher, William H. Macy, Joan Cusack, Jeremy Allen White, Laura Slade Wiggins, Emma Greenwell, Cameron Monaghan, Justin Chatwin, Emma Kenney, Zach McGowan, Ethan Cutkosky, Christian Clemenson, Shanola Hampton, and Bernardo de Paula were astounding. The writing was outstanding, funny but very deep and I especially love the complicated and growing relationship between Ian and Mickey. The character development was exceptional especially with Frank, Mickey, Lip, Ian, Fiona, Shelia, Debbie, Jimmy, Mandy, and Carl. The chemistry between the cast just continues to be remarkable. The makeup and hairstyling was stupendous especially on Noel Fisher, Emma Greenwell, Laura Slade Wiggins, Joan Cusack, Justin Chatwin, William H. Macy, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Emmy Rossum, Shanola Hampton, Maile Flanagan, and Alex Borstein. The costumes were fantastic especially on Emma Greenwell, Isidora Goreshter, Noel Fisher, Emmy Rossum, Joan Cusack, Vanessa Bell Calloway, and Shanola Hampton. Also the music was superb. This is my favorite season so far and another A+ season. Full Review »
