One of my favorite television dramas. The characters are all great, and Paul Abbott does a brilliant job keeping the story fresh. Fiona, Lip, Frank and all the other Gallagher's are easy to relate to, and the actors who play them do an awesome job making this dysfunctional family come to life. By far the most realistic family on TV.

Probably one of the best shows on TV. All the actors are great, even the kids, and we can all easily connect with their characters. It's almost impossible not to like this show. I also love the comedy resulted by all those hard situations they have to go through.

I don't feel like writing much but I already watched the first episode of season 2 and I have to say it is just as brilliant as ever. I just hope Steve dies this season, the lack of him made the episode better for me.

Awesome show. This has William H Macy playing the best role of his career, a drunken **** father. The kids all have their own depth that makes this show so watchable. Lip is a smart kid on a tragic path. Liam is gay, and headed straight for the military. Fiona is the crafty, motherly older sister that keeps them all together. This family reminds me so much of my own.

This show is very well written and the actors fit their characters extremely well. this show is a real down and dirty type of show that has real life situations and puts it into a show. this is my favorite show that is a mixture of drama and comedy at some parts. although this family may by dysfunctional, there are times of real unity which makes the show even better. i can't wait for theThis show is very well written and the actors fit their characters extremely well. this show is a real down and dirty type of show that has real life situations and puts it into a show. this is my favorite show that is a mixture of drama and comedy at some parts. although this family may by dysfunctional, there are times of real unity which makes the show even better. i can't wait for the rest of the season! I laughed, cried, cheered, gasped, damned, and loved the first season. This Full Package is entertaining as hell! (only for open-minded and mature Adults)

I found season two to be much better than season one. It is still melodramatic, but the good acting from the adult leads always sucks me in and helps me overlook its flaws. Though it is a melodrama in some ways, the character's reactions to the exaggerated situations definitely seem realistic. I'm not sure why I really watch this show, but I know it's not because I find it funny; I thinkI found season two to be much better than season one. Shameless season two is another perfect blend of comedy and drama that makes me laugh but also tugs at my heartstrings. Emmy Rossum's performance is an astounding standout performance, she gives a really funny performance that is also really touching and deep and she really makes you feel bad for what Fiona has to go through to keep her family together she just gives a really compelling performance. The performances from Joan Cusack, Chloe Webb, William H. Macy, Emma Kenney, Jeremy Allen White, Zach McGowan, Shanola Hampton, Laura Slade Wiggins, Cameron Monaghan, Steve Howey, and Ethan Cutkosky were pretty phenomenal too. The chemistry between the cast is remarkable, they are just so authentic seeming. The writing is just exceptional, it is just hilarious but also really touching, beautiful, and heartbreaking the writing just really tugged at my heartstrings this season I cried the last two episodes. The character development was outstanding especially with Frank, Monica, Lip, Fiona, Sheila, Kev, Ian, Debbie, and Karen. The opening theme and music were spectacular. The makeup and hairstyling was excellent especially on Noel Fisher, Emma Greenwell, William H. Macy, Molly Price, Joan Cusack, Zach McGowan, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emmy Rossum, Justin Chatwin, and Madison Davenport. The costumes were terrific especially on Joan Cusack, Emmy Rossum, Emma Greenwell, Dove Cameron, Madison Davenport, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Zach McGowan, Amy Smart, Justin Chatwin, and Stephanie Fantauzzi. This 2nd season of Shameless was an A+. Expand

The show is technically flawless--so is Macy strutting like a mangy Mick Jagger--but the Gallaghers' raucous, defiant pride never really engages me. [20 Feb 2012, p.46]

Because the bond between them is so strong, all the show's disparate pieces - the filthy comedy and the desperation, the joy and the depression - hold together just as well.

The second season of Showtime's aptly titled Shameless often feels less like a new season and more like a sequel, in which the major players remain the same, but the volume is amplified and the ante doubled.
