    A hilarious show that depicts modern day life with technology and how social programs can change us compared to real life. This show has fun humor, lovable characters, heart warming or string tugging moments, great acting, and hilarious jokes. A show that's worthy of lasting for more than 1 or 2 seasons, vote help this keep going.

    I had zero expectations for this show, somehow I ended up watching it and I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. After the last episode (where Henry discovers Facebook) I'm totally hooked. Eliza is silly but the dynamic between her and Henry is great.

    I had low expectations before watching this since so many new comedies on network television have flamed out spectacularly over the past few years. Selfie was actually funny in a slightly subversive way. It wasn't qutie as incisive in its lampooning of social media as Suburgatory was of middle class suburban life but still pretty darn funny.     Slightly cute, but more annoying as the show progresses. The chemistry between Gillam and Cho is adorable, but that and Karen's hot looks are about the only significant portions of the show worth watching. The one-off jokes and episode themes fail more often than not. I agree with the other reviews that the first two episodes were better than I hoped, but the last one (ep. 4) wasSlightly cute, but more annoying as the show progresses. The chemistry between Gillam and Cho is adorable, but that and Karen's hot looks are about the only significant portions of the show worth watching. The one-off jokes and episode themes fail more often than not. I agree with the other reviews that the first two episodes were better than I hoped, but the last one (ep. 4) was ridiculously terrible with the 6th grade level 'inspirational message' about Charmonique's life. It's started out as a 7/10, but it's clearly downhill now.… Expand

    After hearing so many negative critiques, I was pleasantly surprised by the pilot. More than just simply a rehashing of the Pygmalion/My Fair Lady story, Selfie offers some biting commentary on social media culture. If the writing could be tightened up, this could be a very solid show.

    Could not get all the way through the first episode but read some positive reviews and thought I would try it again. Could not get through that episode either. I like Cho but I find Gillan's character too annoying to be entertaining. The jokes are flat, the situations are even flatter. Sorry. No more of this show for me.     i have very had low expectations for a teenage **** tv shows but its a teenage girl wanna be show with a dumb humor , and annoying teenage voice from Karen Gillian. Gillian was impressed me in Oculus which was her best performance was in the hands of the Creator Emily Kapnek ( which Miss Kapnek i am not a fan of your teenage spoiled , moaning , ****y show like Suburgatory you clearlyi have very had low expectations for a teenage **** tv shows but its a teenage girl wanna be show with a dumb humor , and annoying teenage voice from Karen Gillian.     The name of the show is the wrong choice. Cast is nice, Cho and Gillian are suitable for each other in the show. The series has the opportunity to make it over "change and be a hero" thing. I had the idea it can be just a rubbish after watching first episode. However the second part oft the pilot was promising for the next episodes and maybe for renewal. After watching second episode i'mThe name of the show is the wrong choice. Cast is nice, Cho and Gillian are suitable for each other in the show.     With the first few episodes, I was almost ready to stop watching. I didn't think it was that great. But giving the show a chance into the later half of the season, I find myself legitimately laughing at the jokes. There are also some very unexpected dramatic bits that a show like this wouldn't normal bother with. I think this show is definitely worth a look even if it has a shakey start.

I think Gillan has earned a loyal fan following and it was a no-brainer to put her in a series. I wouldn't dare suggest beautiful people don't have a right to be sad, but, as an average human, I just don't believe her life is that hard. She's pretty, seems to have a good paying job and, while the show wants us to believe she's got no friends, she gets and receives copious amounts of help whenever she asks. She's got pretty girl problems, not real problems, though that's nothing new on TV. I think the premise is compelling and the jokes are funny enough, but the budding chemistry between the two leads is what will probably keep the show afloat.… Expand

    The best part of this show was Karen Gillan and John Cho’s chemistry in the show. This has been the best part since the show’s pilot and without their great chemistry, I would not have continued watching the show or heck, not even watch this show in the first place.

    The humor gets a bit better since the pilot. It’s starting to resemble to the other show called Suburatory (which was created by Emily Kapnek, the same creator of Selfie) which is the satire humor that is ridiculous yet funny at most times.

    In a few last episodes, the show has been more of emotional yet not so over dramatic character development especially on Eliza Dooley. It’s nice to see her change to be a better person to everyone around her and to herself. This kind of character development also resembles to Suburgatory’s character development in which in some episodes in that show, there has been some emotional character development.

    In the de-facto serries finale, it was somehow a satisfying ending for me because Eliza Dooley finally reunited the person who made her the person she is today and that in the end, Eliza has a bit of self-respect. I still need more episodes though. lol.

    Selfie had much more potential thanks to the chemistry of Karen Gillan and John Cho if ABC didn’t cancel this show. But the silver lining to this is that Selfie had a good 13-episode run.    … Expand

    This show came to fill a space for easy laughs, and it kind of do it. The story maybe went forward too fast, and it became a romance comedy on the go, but it has potential. I enjoyed the minutes the show took from me.

A great show about the worst of the Millennials slowly finding redemption is like an anthem of hope for today. Love it.… Expand

    This is an original concept, which is very relevant to the heavy social media use of today. It also brings a message which needs to be heard of 'online friends are different to real friends'. Although the idea is new, the format is one which has been seen many times in comedy. With such an interesting and new idea, it would have been nice to see a show with a fresh format.

    As an alternative 'Selfie' would have worked well as a romantic comedy feature film; a genre where the same format can be used many times, without becoming tired.

    'Selfie' has generally not been well received, but its target audience appears to be very specific. It has been very relevant to teens, as it is the only show with such a strong story line based around the topic of current social media. I think this show would have been more successful if it had been released as an online series, rather than a television series, as the skew of the targeted audience are much more likely to watch content at their computers, at a viewing time they select, rather than the tradition method of watching television at a specific time.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I personally first thought by the tittle it was going to be a sitcom about a middle age lady who couldn't grow up. When I watched the first episode my initially hypothesis was correct but. I was pleased to see it taking todays day and age and turning it to a funny show. To watch seeing Eliza arguing with Henry telling him to get a social life and Henry teaching her how to become a better person was interesting. I am defiantly looking forward to this weeks new episode.… Expand

    I had no interest in "Selfie", but when I saw that the lovely Karen Gillan and John Cho were in it I decided to give this show a chance. The two leads deliver and have great chemistry (also David Harewood is probably the funniest part of the series). It's a fun and charming little comedy series, but it doesn't really stand-out from the infinite sea of sitcoms we get nowadays.

    All of the obvious self-awareness jokes are glaring and irritating. But here’s the hope: Both Cho and Gillan are very likable actors and even manage to nail what is asked of them in the pilot, playing Eliza and Henry.

    Karen Gillan is a treasure, and it's only by dint of her presence that this comedy works some of the time. Yet in a larger sense, "Selfie" does not really work, because there are a lot of unpleasant and judgmental elements lurking in its premise.
