A lot of the characters you feel invested in whether you like them or not. The actress who plays the queen is superb (and evil) as is Jason Mamoa and the Witch Finder General. There are a few characters who grate on you but that is to be expected. The Visuals and music are amazing and the director/s should be applauded for the set design and general world building. Some of the story lines are watered down but there is always a back and forth of right and wrong which I think keeps you wondering what people will do next. A must watch if you are fan of the genre. Probably, biggest part of score are made by people, who even didn’t see the it. It’s a pity. The show has realistic story line, with twists and motivated characters, also there is a good picture, nice views of nature and work with scene. Besides, there is a thought and brutal fight choreography, for example, Baba uses some wrestling moves, those are very efficient! Also the show can remind us some moral basics: to love and protect our family, to respect disable people and that they are have feeling and thoughts and so much more. From the minuses I can tell about some plot armor for characters and some plot “holes”…but let’s remember our favorite TBB and GoT…There are always will be an authors sweet boy/girl like Jessie or John.
It is time to be objective.

I'm two episodes in and am definitely finding myself drawn to this world and curious to learn more. Overall, I find the concept of a world without sight to be highly intriguing, and so far the production has pulled this off pretty convincingly. Some moments are a little on the nose, like the whole "books are magic thing", however, it's not enough for me to check out. The production value as a whole is very good. The world feels real and lived in. Casting is remarkably strong, especially considering the show only includes one big-name actor at this point. If you're a fan of any of the genres I listed above, I recommend you check See out. Expand

SEE has a daring premise, and of course it's a huge risk to tell the post-apocalyptic, dystopian story of a sightless humankind not in a 90 minutes movie but in an entire TV series. of course, in the first episodes (yeah, again: the only ones critics watched) it's easy to laugh about how blind people could possible wear perfect outfits and be so well-coiffed and live in villages with flawless furniture etc-- but hey, it's the premise: blind people have been living like that for centuries, and yes, now they are skilled. yes, they can fight, and kill. (the amount of gore, believe me, is very low). moreover, dialogues are NOT silly, the series is ambitious and *thematic*, and Jason Momoa is PERFECT! the production value it's of course extremely high, being the series so expensive. the locations are stunning; costumes, sound design, lights and cinematography, everything is over the top. the cast is often very good and so is the acting (even for the Queen, truly irritating... but on purpose.)

really, a metascore of 3/10 for this is a shame! it's a slow-burn show with an extremely risky premise -- watch blind people do things better than us?-- and it's unfair that critics have decided to DESTROY IT after just a couple of episodes. the vast majority of TV series, even in these times of peak TV, are dull and plain and normie and just déjà vu. and then you watch SEE and think "OMG this is the stupidest **** I've seen in my life because blind people cannot braid their hair or slit throats like that!"? COME ON.

regarding the accuses of ableism, I don't know: apparently, “cast and crew who are blind or have low vision.” So at the very least, there’s a fair number of people who are on the production that can help Momoa, Woodard and the rest of the sighted cast try to make their blindness authentic." in this series, the ones who are unable to see are the HEROES, not the other way around. and it's a timeless reflection about civilisation and power, nature and culture, etc. it's far from perfect, but it's not the **** that metascore (mostly considering *one-paragraph* reviews out of generic "Apple TV series" articles) would like to depict it.

This is an interesting TV series, the world and world building are extraordinary, costumes and details are great, acting also. Story was interesting and captivating with just the right amount of tension to keep the series going. I can't point to anything that would be out of place. I started out watching only 1 episode, and it was soo good, I just kept watching until I saw all. Compared to other series I saw this year, this is clearly one of the top 3 I saw in the past decade. Great idea, well executed. I hope for more, and luckily I'm not the only one, as I saw, this was renewed for at least 2 more seasons. I love the bloody action sequence performed by the great Jason Momoa aka Baba Voss. His character was too good. Some of the episodes were boring, no doubt i.e the scene with Magra and Kate. The story gets slow down there but it rises again in the last episode. I didn't like Queen Kate and Haniwa's character. The world development was just perfect. The costumes, soundtrack, action and the sceneries were too good. I'm waiting for the second season.

That said, quality productions in these genres usually apply a modicum of logic, or at least attempt to explain concepts that don't really make much sense. I'm willing to give good productions in these genres a fair crack of the whip, and I watched three episodes of See in the hope that it might improve. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

The key problem with See is the core of the story itself, as the entire premise of this blind post-apocalyptic civilisation is utterly flawed by so much illogical nonsense. How they're able to design and make the clothes they wear, construct their dwellings, or even engage in warfare between groups the way they do, to name but few aspects that leave the viewer asking so many questions. None of these things are logical or at all believable, given the state of the society in which this post-apocalyptic world is set. Add plenty of cringe-worthy drama between characters, pack the story with cliche dialogue, trying to be fair to the cast, they don't exactly have a great script or premise to work with. Sadly, See just doesn't function well as a show and falls completely flat in practically every respect. Apple will likely regret having invested so heavily in this project ($15 million per episode?), looking at the critic reviews here and elsewhere. They're actually very much on point, as are the mostly negative user reviews at other sites.

Much as the formula for “Dark Souls” seeped into video games that didn’t need clunky controls and insane difficulty, “Game of Thrones” has seeped into shows that didn’t need mass murder and overwrought drama. The premise and setting of “See”Much as the formula for “Dark Souls” seeped into video games that didn’t need clunky controls and insane difficulty, “Game of Thrones” has seeped into shows that didn’t need mass murder and overwrought drama. The premise and setting of “See” are enough. I enjoyed seeing how a blind populace makes their communities. I loved seeing a post apocalyptic humanity interact with the leftovers of our society. That should be enough.

No spoilers but some characters have too much plot armor. Sometimes the audience needs some relief. Something that “Game of Thrones” did right was offer that kind catharsis, such as the misfortunes of Jamie Lannister. “See” is misguided in its intent on seeing certain characters make it to the end. For the core family of the show, I can understand. They have each other’s backs. For other characters, I don’t see it. It’s this kind of forceful storytelling that sucks the joy out of an intriguing premise.

The big star here is Jason Mamoa. Not only is he big in the literally sense, he is all-in on the emotionality and physicality of this role. As Mamoa crouches, feels the ground, and moves in sweeping motions, I believe that this is blind warrior. He gives off enough dad energy and husband energy to power a small town. This is the kind of character that drives a story, and perhaps the fault is in the writing of the other characters. They are merely along for Mamoa’s ride. If I had watched this alone, instead of with the family, I might have hit fast forward through the bits without Mamoa.

No spoilers here: the end of season 3 tied up this story. (This isn’t a Netflix cancellation.) I could see a larger story that could have gone on for a few more seasons, but the reception of this show was what it was.
