This is the only show on TV that I will watch every week faithfully live. Not only do the actors do a good job portraying our men and women in the armed forces, it also shows the struggles the families face. This is a show that can educate all of us that take for granted the lives that die for our freedom. So thank you to CBS for making this show.

Why do I think that half the time I'm watching auditions instead of a tv show? The acting is really horrible by some of these actors. I totally agree with the description of 'wooden' performances. D. Boreanz is definitely the wrong choice for the lead position in this series imho.

An hour long U.S. military infomercial. I hope the U.S. Navy is contributing to this program, because I cannot understand why is is on television. Please make it stop.

I hoped this series would be more than a tired paean to the SEALS, but it is not. Tired, formulaic, and very loud. David Boreanaz is a likeable and talented actor, but this series is a stinker, notwithstanding.

Though I love these kinds of action dramas, this one is brought to the ground by the wooden acting of its putative star, David Boreanaz. As a director myself, believe me this guy is hopeless. And to say that is for me to insult trees. He is awful: one-dimensional, non-expressive, and barely literate. Where did they find him? His CV on IMDB ain't exactly stellar!

The most pandering you'll see on TV elsewhere of fox News. Stuff like this is actively contributing to the dumbing down of the United States.

Of the special forces plot based shows out there this is not my first choice. The few action scenes are pretty good, but all of the talking, conflicts between characters and personal angst are over the top and hard to watch. I struggle to keep paying attention during these times, which is the majority of each episode. The few action scenes are pretty good, but all of the talking, conflicts between characters and personal angst are over the top and hard to watch. I struggle to keep paying attention during these times, which is the majority of each episode. It’s almost like the writers are pretending to write an action show but at the same time don’t much care for the characters they are working with and make certain we see them as somewhat broken and pathetic people. I’m certain they would say they are trying to show the “human” side of the characters, I think the soap opera-ish side they are trying to show is not accurate and in ways an insult to these heroes. CBS was premature in doing a full season pickup for this show - it wasn’t worth saving, let alone renewing!

    Addendum:
While the team is deployed, the action scenes come more often, which helps the show. The plot is still moving at a snail’s pace, which does not help. Still on life support as far as I’m concerned. I see CBS has renewed this show. Guess they didn’t think they had anything better in development. Sad.

Hey no thanks CBS and Moonves! If I want to watch the greatest film about SEALS ever, I'll just rent the Viggo Mortenson/Demi Moore one in the 90s, or there have been a couple of others----but never this cocky, hubristic drivel about robotic military characters as these. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love this show. David Boreanaz is great. He makes me want to keep watching. It is well cast. I can't wait to see more of Jason Hayes with his wife and kids. I hope they end up working things out and getting back together. I also would like to see more about Sonny and the other 2 guys. Clay is ok, but I watch for the rest of Bravo team. Maybe now that he's part of the team I'll like him better. Expand

I did enjoy this show and I appreciate the interaction between characters and back story. I will continue to watch it but it didn't grab me the way I thought it would. But still a good show.

On the surface a predictable back and forth between combat mission action and the domestic lives of the soldiers becomes so much more intriguing as its underlying dark conspiracy sub-plot unfolds throughout the first season.

Taken for what I see this show to be. I love it. New Hero biscuit show with movie like action. Brave fellows and decent action. I am not turning on Seals to get a social justice lesson or have a humanitarian cause tug at my heart strings. I am tuning in to see heroic feats done by "real men" as plausible as that can can be. This is like comic book Conan or the Two Gun Kid; as close toTaken for what I see this show to be. I love it. New Hero biscuit show with movie like action. Brave fellows and decent action. This is like comic book Conan or the Two Gun Kid; as close to being a super hero without being super. The fantasy that one can achieve daunting heroics with great training and plausible tech is exciting for some; me included. I tune in to get my weekly fix of hero biscuits. Nothing more!! I like it for what it is. I should note, that this is not withstanding the latest episode where a team member is stuck in a torpedo tube, many episodes like that (without action) and I will turn it off for good. Expand

    Seal team
This show created around a solid premise and interesting characters has gone to **** This season it seems to concentrate on Jason Hayes, the least interesting character of the lot. Pompous, head strong, heroesque, always the winner- ultimately all that we should not be venerating, this figure has taken over the episodes. It’s as if David Boreanaz bought into production rights

It’s as if David Boreanaz bought into production rights and hired writers to dote on his dilemmas. Nor Interested. Too many other characters so much more interesting. Lost my interest and I have watched it from the beginning. Sorry CBS, you have made a winner a loser. I’m outta here.

Excellent show! More realistic than most other military based shows on TV and in the Movies. The cast is easy to relate to as a veteran and mostly believable. This is probably the only show I watch on TV faithfully. Please renew. These guys do a great job. Way better than SIX.

Solid story line, for the most part realistic occurences, very satisfactory acting, correct landscapes (when it comes to eg portray Afghanistan). It is a solid show and I rarely say that, it's a good job.

The drama plays to the strengths of its network, and its star. The missions are simple and paint the soldiers as patriotic and unimpeachably good.

The best moments in this show are when Hayes is prepping for combat with his team. ... Where SEAL Team is weakest is when any scene turns away from fighting enemies to a discussion of fighting enemies.

Boreanaz holds the center, a significant task in a series that doesn’t leave a lot of room to write around the shortcomings of individual actors, let alone its lead. He’s great in a series that fulfills its mission to keep us interested and makes us want to see where it's leading.
