This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Temporada estúpida. Desnecessária. Aborrecida. Com um final incrivelmente sem sentido, onde todos os personagens seguiram caminhos diferentes. Nem um antigo fã da série, como eu, consegue ver esta temporada sem chorar de vergonha. Full Review »

The second viewing often reveals subtle plot points or smart dialogue that can fly by quite quickly during the first viewing. Smart writing usually grabs my interest and Scorpion often gets to this level.

That having been said, there are a few things needing work. First and foremost are their stupid mistakes, making a bad situation even worse. This plot device has been overused and overdone. When the Happy character has to say “this is bad” it is too often a situation of their own making. These people are geniuses, and after being in dozens of these situations now, they should be better at spotting potential complications beforehand.

Second are the overlooked simpler solutions. More than a few episodes have had problems that would have been solved quickly with easy fixes. When this occurs it wrecks the illusion of credibility.

Yes, writers, you have an hour to fill, but do it intelligently and vary the source of the complications or it all gets too formula. When the writers ignore the simple fix in favor of a dangerous and complex strategy, it makes the team seem like egotistical idiots. Paige needs to help the team avoid this problem.

Now that you’ve put Walter and Paige in a romantic relationship, be very careful Introducing too much conflict into this already strained pairing. This could easily turn viewers sour on the whole show. Do not like the plot lines presenting Florence as an alternate love interest for Walter. While Flo might become a sometime consultant to the team, she should not become a spoiler for Walter and Paige’s relationship. Bad move, writers!

I also think you’ve been ignoring the Ralph character lately. The kid is potentially smarter than all of the adults, including Walter, and this could benefit the show if it is applied properly.

Like the idea of Sly passing the bar. Having legal expertise on the team would have avoided the stupid contract loophole in the treasure hunting episode. Keeping the team broke and mistake prone are also dangerous plot devices.

Keep it smart, lessen the stupid mistakes, lose the Flo complication in the Paige and Walker relationship and this show should run for a long time.

    Addendum:
The season finale was predictable in that any team member can be ditched from the script if the show is renewed but contract negotiations go sideways. Still, the blowup at the end was petty and childish. Not good writing. If the show doesn’t get renewed, is this how we are supposed to remember it? In tatters?

Well, the news is not good and Scorpion is history. I will try to delete the last episode from my memory and assume everything gets fixed again. Bad bad series end, writers!

With canceled shows hopping networks this year, I would hope for a reprieve for Scorpion, but not holding my breath.

The continued use of "Geniuses" who always make predictable and ludicrous mistakes to drag the plot out to the full hour has worn its welcome out! Knock it off already or don't come back for next season. I'll be watching something smarter. Full Review »
