Doesn't start picking up until the end of season 1.

Until then it's less 'alien' and more 'long drawn out suffering teenage drama.' But when it picks up, it picks up. The sheriff is one of the better actors I've seen in a TV show, andDoesn't start picking up until the end of season 1.
