    I think the show's concept is a fantastic idea as it reminds me of Real Steel with Hugh Jackman and it wouldn't be a bad thing if the show was inspired by the movie. However, there were a couple of things that could of been better from the start...some of which were improved towards the end of the season.

    Firstly, the constant camera cuts were really annoying but they toned it down    I think the show's concept is a fantastic idea as it reminds me of Real Steel with Hugh Jackman and it wouldn't be a bad thing if the show was inspired by the movie. However, there were a couple of things that could of been better from the start...some of which were improved towards the end of the season.

    Firstly, the constant camera cuts were really annoying but they toned it down toward the end. They even added slow motion to crucial hits towards the end as well which was nice. Chris Jericho was something else constantly saying "that's the first time in Robot Combat League history", uh yea dude it's the first season of something like this, ever.

    The teams were handed robots designed by 1 guy which is nice and all considering the guy is really good at what he does but I think some robots have a technological advantage compared to others and it doesn't seem quite fair which may turn some viewers off to the idea or could make or break the series. Skills needs to be the variable instead of randomness or luck either by a team of designers to help the 1 guy or by the contestants themselves who appear to all be educated in robotics. Robots could use more mobility to more closely mimic complex human movement. I also liked how the show got the audience to care about certain teams because they can relate so that's a plus.

    Could of used way more fights to have a longer season as it seemed short lived than a typical season of a typical series. Needs more human/robot anatomy comparisons and the damage done to the robots is awesome! Humans love destruction in some way or another and this is a different fix for it!    … Expand

    So, what about the human intrigue of partner interaction, coordination and strategizing? That gets a bit of short shrift in favor of more blood (leaking hydraulic fluid) and guts (flying sparks and parts).

    Sparks fly, parts break off, hydraulic fluid sprays. At least the episode ends with 10 minutes of awesome.

    It's all incredibly cheesy, true, and the premiere engages in a whole lot of vamping and time-killing before any action begins. By that measure, this is perhaps the perfect show to DVR, excising all the baggage to get down to the fun of watching these consciously Transformers-like creations trade blows, as sparks and fluids fly.
