This is basically just Norman Reedus getting together with friends and having some. There's talk about motorcycles, beautiful scenery, and Reedus is a likable guy even when he's not in Daryl Dixon mode. Whether or not this show is for you just comes down to how much of a Reedus superfan you are.

Like I said, Reedus is a likable guy. He's doing some cool stuff here and hanging out with some cool people while doing it. He's enthusiastic about his adventures and really seems to be having a lot of fun. Good for him and all, but that doesn't really make for good television.

There are plenty of shows where a person goes around to new places, tries new things, and manages to engage the audience and teach them in the process. That's where this show stumbles. It's just watching Norman have fun. We get to see some cool stuff, but it's not the same as actually experiencing it.

This is basically just the Norman Reedus show. A reality show centered completely around a famous person doing things they enjoy. Plenty of celebrity-focused reality shows have been quite successful. I mean, how long did Keeping Up with the Kardashians go on? Reedus' show certainly isn't as brainless as that was, but it's a similar concept.

As a result this all comes down to how much of a Reedus fan you are. Personally, I like the guy, but not enough to keep up with this. It's not bad or anything and it has it's entertaining moments. I can totally see this hooking the right Reedus fan(s). However none of that really changes the fact that we're just watching someone else have fun. That just isn't my kind of thing.

I mean, the beautiful scenery is cool, and I like the stuff with the bikes, but Reedus is not nearly as interesting as you'd think he would be. Watch just about and documentary on Viceland, and you'll find more compelling folks to watch week after week. He's cool as the strong, silent type hunting down zombies, but as the social type who is the backbone of a road-show? Not so much.I mean, the beautiful scenery is cool, and I like the stuff with the bikes, but Reedus is not nearly as interesting as you'd think he would be. Love the scenery, love the bikes but this show isn't worthy of a series. It is a vulgar exploitation of Reedus' TWD popularity. and unless no one has noticed yet, Reedus hasn't had ANY success outside of the hit zombie series. Every movie he's been cast in has bombed at the office. He may be a great "Daryl" character but he is definitely not host material. He is dull and boring.Love the scenery, love the bikes but this show isn't worthy of a series. Female followers may tune in just to fantasize about him but I highly doubt anyone has stayed awake through it.
Skip this one folks, unless you actually enjoy watching paint dry.

[Reedus] is an engaged and engaging guide. Sure, there’s a lot of “let’s do it” and “that’s amazing” or “this is so beautiful,” and not every side excursion is as interesting as it may have seemed in the editing room (doughnuts in the desert are not as much fun to watch as they are to do). But the show admirably swings for the poetic democracy of the most famous road-trip chronicles and it succeeds more often than you might think it would.

Although through voice overs Reedus does try to convey some of his life philosophies, which is surprisingly zen, Ride is mostly about getting a chance to see places in the U.S. from a different perspective. However, because it lacks depth, without Reedus leading the way, there wouldn’t be much to Ride. If you don’t know who the actor is, chances are you won’t get a lot out of this series.
