The original movies were less than passable, netflix has managed to step even lower. Congrats netflix, it's garbage! There is literally no redeemable quality to this pile of excrement. Simply zero across the board.

It's so painful watching this show... Even the first episode is way more stupid than I could imagine... Last year I commented that Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness was terrible...It just keeps getting worse.

This series makes no sense, the chosen actors are completely out of place compared to the characters from the original series. Poor acting and terrible story made the "tv show" even more cringe. I just wanna forget what I saw...

With the release of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, it was more than obvious that Netflix wasn't going to do the same. But I also never anticipated they would take the route they did.

Because this show is many, many things, but it's definitely not Resident Evil.
You can take liberties with the source material, but what they did was basically spit on that source material.

The script is an abysmal. There's just terrible dialogue all around.
The characters are soporific. The narrative structure is a goddamned mess, because the 8 long episodes just jump from the past to the future constantly, which shreds any attempt at cohesion.

I don't think this series is going to get a second season. It doesn't deserve it in my opinion, and this for the simple reason that these 8 episodes gave me no reason to believe I wanted to keep watching this.
I finished it because I don't left things unfinished, but in all honesty, this was a brutal disappointment, one of the worst series Netflix has ever produced and they are notorious for producing garbage. Be warned.… Expand

Casting had one job. Pick diverse people, no talent. And nobody taller than our main character, who is literally "the man". Just poorNo relation to the games.

Yet, they've gender swapped and race swapped the characters. Even in their own show, they can't abide by their own rules. The main protagonist should have died multiple times in the first episode. I'm willing to forgive some contrivances, but they can't be constantly avoiding death by everything else's stupidity. Also, it's the vegan's fault the human race falls. good job.… Expand

An absolute abomination. Everyone involved should be in prison. Except for Blade. I like the first two Blade movies. And it pains me to see him have to resort to cameos in this utter dog faeces. Come on, give the groovy vampire hunter a new film!

The second half is garbage: the two daughters of Wesker are hateful and stupid, the event at school are unreal no one is composed like this, the events at the umbrella are pitiful, a series of stupid tricks to bring the zombies into the series...
Seems that netflix wants us to hate the woke wave, this is the only way to explain the choices they made in the story, I don't understand how those who wrote the story can think that the viewer can empathizes with the protagonists who are stupid and pathetic (why hide the mascot's head in the 'sister's closet?); it is not clear if netflix hates its subscribers because what it has done in the last 2 years has been a bad job of adaptation, those unfamiliar with resident evil would have watched a show with a different title, and those who know resident evil have no chance to find what they loved in the series ... the movies had already done damage but this series already from the pilot is disgusting. This all in the first episode because it was impossible for me to continue ... the netflix subscription is starting to be less and less attractive, especially compared to the qualitative difference with amazon's prime that a few years ago was gaunt and antiquated but which in recent years is pulling out of bursting masterpieces ... If netflix cares about all sexualities, vegans etc etc why not give it a pleasant roles to watch rather than always stupid and nonsense characters ...
I will never hate a person in real life because is vegan or LGBQT+, but in netflix show they always put this trait in the worst characters, I know many vegan or vegetarian and I never seen acting like netflix think they are...

Castlevania was a fluke. This Resident Evil show proves that NETLFIX has no clue what it's doing. A 7 year-old who has actually played the games could write a more engaging adaptation. Main Character comes off extremely unlikeable , Not because of her acting which seems fine, but more of the writers fault which you will see with many of the characters. Lance Reddick, while a great actor is very much miscasted as the villian role here as this can be seen especially in the parent teacher confidence where he doesn't come of threating when he is supposed to. Special Effects are terrible throughout the show. As to the "wokeness" aspect people are complaining about, in the very beginning they do try to make political statements using the town bluntly. Id imagine there is some half baked political commentary in the rest of the show but I only really watched to see how bad it is and everyone is right, don't give this show anymore views then it deserves.… Expand

It’s a video game based series and they thought we would apparently would want to see over the top bullying that is cheered on by other students (has this ever actually happened?), Sylens letting his children boss him around, and young men taking their shirts off. They spared no time getting to some underage chads whipping out their abs, it happens in episode one. Honestly it was hard to finish one episode.

Oh yeah also there are zombies in a couple scenes and a big worm… Expand

Imagine if there was an adaptation of Lord of the Rings, but it took place AFTER the events of the Lord of the Rings novel in a place called "New Middle-Earth". None of the original characters from the novels is part of this adaptation, with the exception of Sauron, who it turns out is a clone of the original Sauron. He is joined by his two elvish daughters, Billie and Jade, who spend the bulk of the series harassing their father and making every waking moment of his life miserable. Joined by these two elvish teenagers are 3 hobbits names Gary, Stu, and Billy Bob. They make a few references to the events of the books, but none of the characters ever make an appearance. Instead of going on adventures or exploring the lands of New Middle-Earth, most of the drama centers around Billie and Jade dealing with a recent move to the new kingdom, and constantly complaining about how much they miss the old Middle-Earth. The land is infested with Orcs, and the one of the elvish sisters is trying to figure out how to stop them from attacking towns and villages, but central theme of the show is about how working too hard means it's hard to take care of your family. It gets a 1 because Lance Riddick is an awesome actor, he is wasted in this garbage. I don't know why they decided to do split narratives when it adds nothing to either story.

Terribly written, the main character is incredibly insufferable and annoying. This is an abhorrent TV show and an insult to Resident Evil as a franchise. As a RE veteran its a shame to see my favorite game series get treated this way. He did amazingly for what what provided for him. Another thing is the CGI. For a live action resident evil this is the best CGI I've seen. Now back to the bad parts of this Trash fest. They completely botched Dr. Salvadores design not even kidding watch it back and you can see they cut his eyeholes way too big. He also just looks confused half of the time he was on screen. This abomination of a show is a 1/10 for me. If you are a Resident Evil fan like me. Watch. With. Caution. There were just to many scenes that pissed me off and made me as a fan feel disrespected. They also could have at least made the ending at least half decent. it sucked. So yeah my final verdict is a 1/10… Expand

If you are fan of the Resident Evil games like I am, then I implore you not to waste one solitary moment on this travesty of an adaptation. Nothing could possibly prepare you for how bad this is. Prisoner escapes by jumping off the ledge (about a 200 ft drop) and lands on a car (no injuries). Umbrella stunned. Why wouldn't you secure the prisoner before slaughtering the rag tag group. And why bother shooting them at all? Clearly the group has some semi-roots in place. Why does Umbrella suddenly want to go berserk on them? No logic at all.

2. Umbrella opens fire (again) on a group of people traveling and they announce "You are breaking Umbrella jurisdiction!". Prisoner evades into a storage container with a family and says "its Umbrella". A woman says "nooo, Umbrella wouldnt do that!" Seriously? They literally just announced it! And in the previous scene Umbrella was protecting the prisoner from zombies, shooting thousands to secure her escape -- now they are blindly shooting into a crowd of people?

3. In the first episode, Umbrella says "your sister is looking for you" then in a later episode its treated as this grand twist/reveal when her sister takes off her Umbrella helmet. You already told us!

4. A girl enters her base after being in the field with hundreds of zombies... she hugs her kid and husband. No quarantine, no spraydown. There are just too many illogical plot holes to list, or just completely idiotic dialogue and behaviors. Maybe I'll make a video. It's one of the most poorly written shows I've ever seen.

This is SOOOO BAD! Even if it wasn't an abomination to the Resident Evil name and had a generic zombie title slapped on it, it would still be the worst series I've ever seen. It has nothing fundamentally comparable to the games. Why even be an adaptation if you aren't going to use ANY of the great source material, of which you have heaps! (Money obviously) The Resident Evil Franchise is one of my most most beloved series of all time.

The writing is so bad it almost makes you laugh but you can't laugh. All you can do is stare and scratch your head. You can almost feel yourself becoming a zombie as you watch it. Getting dumber and dumber. Oh wait, they're not Zombies. They are "Zeroes'. Ironic -- because thats what this series scores out of 10.… Expand

I kid you not, this show was so poorly written I’ve created an account just to review it. There is no character development at all and the main character is so poorly written that you can’t root for her. There is no character development at all and the main character is so poorly written that you can’t root for her. As the supposed strong female lead she spends all of her time making the worst decisions possible and getting knocked out. I had high hopes for this series but I’m left wishing I had a time machine because I genuinely wasted hours of my time finishing this with the hopes it would be redeemed by the end. Only to be left utterly disappointed and dissatisfied, especially by the incredibly poor “cliffhanger” ending. No one wants to watch an entire series to feel like they’ve gotten nothing out of the story other than the signposted points in the synopsis. This really sucked.

Los saltos entre el pasado y el presente son muy confusos. Hubiese sido mejor si no tuviese el nombre de Resident Evil, sólo es un atractivo para vender que rompe con el juego por completo. Es muy bueno que exista empoderamiento femenino y inclusión de razas, pero con el primer episodio se me hace raro ver que los personajes más sobresalientes son todas mujeres.

Lo único que respetaron del juego, fue un perro zombie, que visualmente se ve peor que los perros zombies de Resident Evil 1996 para la PSX.… Expand

Terribly casted save for wesker who seems to be where the budget went. The plot relies on the protagonist being consistently bad with decision making which gets others killed and needs umbrella to be just incompetent in order to move the poorly written narrative along. Are we seriously supposed to belive that a multibillion dollar pharmaceutical company only has a single security measure on its arguably most valuable lab that can be defeated by a voice recording? That they wouldnt station any guards on site? A highly dangerous test subject has only one lock on its cage with no backups to prevent it escaping? The guards they do have are brilliant, let me tell you. They have great plans such as being behind the person they want to capture and that person not knowing they're there so they make sure to yell "hey" and walk 20 feet to the unarmed target making sure to use the entire walk up time to draw their weapon so he can grab it when they get there.

Instead we are sent on an adventure with a possibly the most selfish and annoying character ever conceived. Jade’s story is full of questionable choices, reckless actions that put everyone at risk yet she always manages to stay fine regardless, making her story very predictable and safe, distancing from horror genre towards.. well I don’t really know what but something bad, reminding me of communal dinners at my junior high in Eastern Europe. One of the most appealing aspects of the series is the entanglement of the past and present, allowing viewers the a bit more insight into the story as well as characters. Unfortunately, two out of three main characters are just written so poorly, that the whole series can be summed up in a single sentence: “Use contraception.” Typical rebel-phase teens filled to the brim with edginess make the characters so unlikeable that I genuinely rooted for everyone but them. Combine that with teen hackers, long segments of playing Sherlock Holmes, Mean Girls style school drama and omnipotence of girls and what we have is a disaster incarnate. The only positive aspect of this series was the character of Albert Wesker, which was brought to live by brilliant Lance Reddicks. Possibly the only saving point of this series. But apart of that, it is a hot mess.… Expand

No one wanted to see a ugly lesbian with a massive gap in her teeth being a angry **** The action was poop and the zombies and story had nothing to do with resident evil. Just horrible and I would rather punch myself in the face than watch the second episode. Also played the first one when I was kid and liked most of the movies and spin off stuff but this was a abortion. I guess the democrats will definitely love it … Expand
