I used to really love the show. The last two seasons, however just looking at you. Well, it was very good. I'm so sorry it's over. Those who can look at this series.

I used to really, really love this show growing up - but now I realise a ton of what's wrong with it. From the problematic humour, to the increasingly complex and stupid storylines -- it's one of those shows that's way melodramatic, but it works when you're watching it. It's just that when you finish a season and runthrough all that went down and then see how many plots we went through in just 13 episodes. Good start to a series, the pilot is fantastic especially. A hilarious season with some very good drama to balance everything out. Not the best season of the show, but far from the worst *cough*6 and 7*cough*. Expand

May be the network's most effective combination yet of artistic reach and popular appeal. Created by The Job's Peter Tolan and Denis Leary, who also stars, Rescue Me could do for firefighters what "NYPD Blue" did for cops: strip them of myth while celebrating their humanity.

In an age when TV is quickly going the way of all idiots, a show like this is a gift...I watched three episodes and can't wait to see more! more! more!

There is no question Rescue Me walks a very thin artistic line. The miracle, in television terms, is how brilliantly it works. While heart-wrenching at times, it is also a very funny series. [21 July 2004, p.6E]
