    For the most part I have really enjoyed this series. I believe season 5 was a little weak at times but season 6 so far ( I have seen the first 5 episodes) has been quite good. If you left the series at some point and are here to read reviews to decide if you should come back well I would certainly say to come back. This season is excellent!!

    Season six felt like a refreshment after the last two seasons. It was more "Ray Donovan" compared to them. But I don't know where season seven will lead and I don't know why Showtime ordered another season because this season could well as been the last season, just hoping the story won't spiral out.

    Season 5 had me worried a bit that the show might be beginning the downward slide towards mediocrity. I enjoyed it, and it was still damn good television, but it just didn't feel up to par with the previous seasons. Fortunately, season 6 managed to dispel any ideas about the show heading downhill. In fact, I think it's the best season yet.

    Much of it feels not just implausible but uninteresting. It’s clear that Ray and Sean are forming some kind of toxic partnership, and Samantha does pull in Ray for another job.
