Ray Donovan was very good in Season 1 and has gone steadily downhill.

Basically, the setup of Ray and his father was great. Ray is who he is, Micky is a wonderful villain. But they were on a collision course; it had to be one or the other. To keep the series going producers have to keep them both around and the resulting plot turns to accomplish that are just too preposterous. The

The story no longer makes any sense. Subplots are with Terry, Bunchy, and the incestuous prize fighter are unbelievable and uninteresting. Sorry but this series has exceeded its shelf life.

Steady decline in the writing from season one to season four. The soap opera music and pause for effect in every scene is super annoying. I binged watched season one and two. In season three, I couldn't make it past two episodes without falling asleep. In season four, the plot ending of every episode is predictable and the writing is incredibly unimaginative. So far so good. I'm enjoying this season more than the first three, perhaps because they've added a healthy sprinkling of wry humour. One flaw of previous seasons has been an overabundance of gloom, making it too leaden at times. This season solves that problem beautifully.

This season was awful, the plot of the fighter and his sister was annoying. The entire season felt like they ran out of ideas, the subplots of bunchy, terry, the russians were very boring. i hope they make this show great again the next season or i think they are done...

This season got better and better in the last 5 or so episodes, and it turned out to be one of my favourites.
Hector's storyline didn't really impose itself too much on the main one and was even merged with it in the end. A little forced like the overall conclusion some might say, but as pure entertainment I think it was a great watch.
It was big on emotions and a very action-packed season, I loved seeing the Donovans get even deeper into murder and crime.
Don't **** with the Russians they say ?
Don't **** with the Donovans YA BETTER

I like Donovan best when it’s more of a crime show, but I’ll take this version for the intermittent rewards it yields regularly.

A touchier-feelier Ray Donovan emerges, and the change is welcome.

Though the season’s early framework may have let them down, the ease with which the main cast portray their characters is still among the best on television, and it’s what keeps Ray Donovan a series worth watching--even with such a slow, easily telegraphed start.
