One of the weirdest yet most satisfying sci-fi shows on tv at the moment. With it's off the wall plot twists it's almost impossible to see where this show is headed but you do know it will be one hell of a ride.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The show offers a nice escape into the Ridley Scott universe with an alien expanse. Travis Fimmel is a huge plus being such a radiant actor. The plot is intriguing and thought provoking but it comes with many holes. There's illogical scenes that are just shrugged off and quickly skipped over.

Like why is everyone eating everything they see without testing it first? Why is everything edible and harmless?? Not even Earth's wild fauna is that forgiving. Where even are all the animals? There's no animals but then there's a random scene with Travis roasting a chicken? One moment, the planet's water is lava, the next moment the water on sea creatures is completely safe to touch, the next moment it's unsafe again, the next moment it's safe, the next moment it isn't. One scene Campion is revered as a professional tracker simply because he "grew up in the planet". But the writers forget that Campion grew up in a completely foreign desert biome with ZERO animals and ZERO humans. What is Campion tracking?? His shadow??

Feels like the writers just half assed the realism and let anything fly for convenience sake. If the writing had more in-depth explanations, it would totally make the show. The bigger picture mysteries are awesome to ponder, but the finer details need some proper tuning. A food test kit would've helped, showing dangerous plants, showing some more animals, having heat protection gloves, or giving the android the tracking role. These all would've been easy remedies to frustrating plot holes. Please just make it make sense.

Holy cow, I didn't know how it could be better than season 1, but season 2 manages to deliver some of the best content from the mind of Ridley Scott since Alien. This show is highly underwatched and underrated. If you are a fan of heady sci fi that also explores the ins-and-outs of human nature with a fine toothed comb, while also satirizing theology. then you've came to the right place.Holy cow, I didn't know how it could be better than season 1, but season 2 manages to deliver some of the best content from the mind of Ridley Scott since Alien. No big stars in it either which to me makes it all the more believable. Excellent programming from Ridley and HBOmax!!! Expand

The first season wasn't great but it was watchable. This second season is vapid and altogether awful in so many ways it would be impossible to list them all here. Trust me, it's bottom shelf streaming - 1 star

I liked the lore of this show, but it doesn't make sense anymore. Now it's impossible to see where the series is headed, and, in this case, it's a bad thing. Characters make dumb decisions, and the rules of the universe are being contradicted every time now. Also, the protagonists are vastly different from season 1, as if a whole season has been missing. It's even better than the first season. Incredibly unique with an excellent visual style. Very hopeful that they confirm more seasons.

Loving that we are seeing more of the million year old holy war that decimated Kepler (possibly?), through the relics and church cave in this season, that were teased in Mother's vision from season 1, the pentagonal temple, and the tarot cards. Is Sol an actual spirit or an AI singularity? why does it want to create beings incarnate (the snakes birthed from androids)? Do they amplify its power? So many directions this show can still go, and I'm here for any of them. Greatest sci-fi of all time. Expand

One of my favorite shows airing currently. You never know quite where it is going, always surprising. Deals with some deep themes of religion and compassion and deception. And manages to be entertaining and scary at the same time!

This show is laughably bad. Just about everything is worse than the first season, and that’s saying something. The script is nonsensical, and the special effects look like they were pulled from a PS1. I don’t know who greenlit this garbage but they shouldn’t be allowed near a checkbook for their own safety.

A future-shock caper with real weight, it harks back satisfyingly to the sci-fi that existed before George Lucas fired up his lightsaber and ruined all the fun.

With a confidence that seems to grow with each episode, Guzikowski’s series proves a formidable descendant of its great predecessors, imbued with their finest qualities as well as its own distinctive virtues.

It’s exciting, with each twist and turn arriving as clues to better understand this crazy place, from its smallest elements to its greatest themes. And yet, the answers to the mysteries always take a backseat to the interpersonal dynamics among the survivors.
