This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What a big letdown this final season was!
Let me be clear: I wasn't expecting a big fight in the end, in fact for them to just drop weapons and make peace was a really refreshing turn of events, I really liked that.
Also, the overall idea of "it was all in his head all along" isn't necessarily bad per se.
What really doesn't make any sense it's the execution of that idea: basically season 1 and 2 never existed, and that's the real issue here: it's not just him imagining things ON TOP of real events, those events just never took place outside his mind.
Like, when two characters are talking to each other without Magne being there, that conversation happened only in Magne's head.
So we don't really know anything about any character in the end, and that's really disappointing.
Other shows managed to develop this idea in a more interesting and convincing way, so that when the twist happens, it shed a new light on everything we saw. That's how a plot twist work.
In this case, the twist just ERASE everything from the very first episode. It'a not a matter of interpreting things differently, that would have been much more interesting.
Basically, we don't know what happened in season 1 and 2 since really nothing we saw really took place.
That's some really lazy and trivial writing, aiming only at surprise the viewer (not for good), but not adding any value to the story.
On the contrary, it completely ruined the past two season.
