    you can't title a movie "documentary" and then make 80%+ of it with stories that do not have any resemblance to reality!
    you could make Cleopatra a 3 legged alien who fought the Vikings in 1800 USA if this movie was a fictional movie, NOT documentary (well "docudrama"), but this is ridiculous and worst: is intentional!

    i think giving a tv show 0 is just lazy. It is coherent and reasonably well produced. As history it hsa absolutely no value. But there are some people who might enjoy it and find it uplifting or entertaining or something.

    I would like to see this actress in a better film. It held my attention, but it played like a soap opera. Historically inaccurate. It appears Jada and those involved have an agenda. Docu-drama, folks. It does'nt matter what your grandmother told you. Very dumbed down as if meant for fifth graders.

    I don't understand why Netflix classifies a science fiction series as a documentary. All the archaeological finds point to the Greek or Macedonian origins of Cleopatra. Skin color is determined by our genes and not by the geography of our birth, much less by what someone's grandmother said. The closest thing to a parody.     I almost never write reviews. This one forced me to. I want my time back i wasted watching this. I cannot believe this even made it far enough to be streamed to anyone. Instead of any historical accuracy they made an interpretation of an actual documented historical figure to satisfy some directors woke fantasy . Bad writing,even worst acting. Boring and badly directed and produced tripe.I almost never write reviews. This one forced me to. I want my time back i wasted watching this. I cannot believe this even made it far enough to be streamed to anyone. Egypt is North Africa, Ancient Egyptians were Afroasiatic ethnos, closely related to Berbers and Semits. Cleopatra, like any other ruler of Hellenistic Egypt, was from the Greek-Macedonian Ptolemaic dynasty. Black African peoples have had so many unique and amazing cultures and civilizations throughout history. Why not tell a story about one of them, instead of using the American gaze and exploiting the American Black agenda in the context of different parts of the world, different nations, and different cultures?

    Really offensive for Egyptians, Arabs, Copts, and many others.

    Obviously it can’t be serious historians (although it has serious historians in it) because they don’t need key moments acted out by thespians hamming it up like an episode of Tracy Beaker. Then again it has too many clever talking heads to please those who like history served up like Carry On Cleo.

    Though we liked the experts that were interviewed for Queen Cleopatra, as well as Adele James’ performance as the famous queen, the dramatic sequences leave too much to be desired to keep us from just reading about Cleopatra online to get the information we want.

    Despite having to vacillate between descriptions of her subject as a politician, a seductress and a warrior, James manages to excel in each. She brings intelligence and nuance to a performance that is strikingly better than what surrounds her.
