I thought it was light-hearted fun and pretty funny. Yes, some of the tropes are a bit uninspired but it's not trying too hard. Nice to watch on a hangover

I don't generally look to adult cartoons to set the narrative of social acceptance for mainstream media, and keeping that in mind I have to say I have really enjoyed watching Q-Force. I'm gay, a man, and an adult, and I thought Q-Force avoids some serious pitfalls while making fun of tropes in a positive way. The male nudity itself feels like a welcome change to a world where I have to sit and watch women's bodies used in ridiculous ways on a daily basis.

I don't believe the show needs to be some groundbreaking representational dive into the deeply complex nature of gender, sexuality, and society. I've known people who are like these characters, and the portrayal of their personalities runs deeper than *a lot* of other cartoons in the same vein.

The jokes are simple, it's a fun show about relatable goofballs who shirk the norm for similar shows by putting a queer spin on something that's been done before. I personally don't feel it needs to be more than that. It's a good time, in its infancy, and a stepping-stone to something better.

Ma fille fluide non binaire avec des poils sous les bras, adore ! Elle regarde tous les matins avec son petit frère asexué avec des plumes multicolores dans le fondement. Merci Netflix !

A few too many of the jokes are dated and easy, although the show leans so far into its cheesy sense of humor that it becomes increasingly likable as the season goes on. It’s a show that’s comfortable with viewers groaning at a few of its easy targets and trusts that fans will stick with it as a very sharp writer’s room and strong voice cast get over the growing pains of a first season.

Q-Force feels like a missed opportunity to present LGBTQ characters in a light that doesn’t necessarily point to their queerness with such a big, 1990’s-style arrow. But we’re holding out hope that the show gets better during the first season.

The cast includes Wanda Sykes, Laurie Metcalf, Gary Cole and David Harbour, all doing their best with what they have, but limited by oddly old-fashioned jokes. The cultural references are so dated I started to wonder if it was deliberate, a retro choice, like midcentury modern sideboards or moustaches.
