This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. All in all this was a great season. A great performance from Tariq as he moved to be the main character. Mary J Blidge also gives a very powerful and compelling performance as the heir to a kingpin. The series is better than ever without Omari Hardwick and it does not seem like it will be stopping anytime soon. Expand

This soapy drama full of unintentionally comedic moments has a lot of heavy lifting ahead. ... As it stands, “Power Book II: Ghost” is a hate-watching worthy spinoff for cosmic retributionists who hope Tariq gets his comeuppance. Sadly, that is as unlikely as this dude becoming a fan favorite.

There’s a ton of stuff going on in the first episode of Power Book II: Ghost. But Power garnered big audiences because, despite being a bit soapy and unbelievable at times, it carried lots of fine performances and more than enough quality writing to overcome its flaws. That trend continues with the first sequel.
