Although I expected the docuseries to dig a bit deeper into the specific history of the showcase and how it spawned Black-themed comedy nights at clubs across America, I still appreciated all of the extra detours into the various aspects of the cultural history of the 1990s.

Hudlin and Torry have gathered these comedic talents to celebrate a tremendous legacy; their docuseries gives the Phat Tuesdays regulars their due.

The first two episodes build the origins of Phat Tuesdays in a compelling and funny fashion and then the third just fizzles. ... At least the conclusion, with the Comedy Store wall, is executed well.
