Ridiculously well written, well acted, and beautifully shot. Definitely cut from the same cloth as Breaking Bad but possibly better! Very much hoping for a second season.

Ben Kingsley and Jimmi Simpson combine to somehow make more out of an already superb script. Perpetual Grace is shot-through with bone dry, frequently laugh out loud humor, that follows characters you’ll take interest in from the first show.Ben Kingsley and Jimmi Simpson combine to somehow make more out of an already superb script. Definitely reminds me of Patriot and that's a great thing. As others have noted though, there's something missing from all of these characters, which is, I believe, is intended, but it does get in the way of any sympathy for them. As others have noted though, there's something missing from all of these characters, which is, I believe, is intended, but it does get in the way of any sympathy for them. I find them distant, which impacts my ability to connect with them or their stories. I don't care what happens to them outside of moving the plot forward. Expand

No log ladies though. Dark themes throughout, however. Looking forward to next season, but one issue comes up for me as a native southwesterner; snow in June in New Mexico (or Texas or Sonora Mexico)? ?? Father’s Day is in late June. It is a major plot device in the series, and many outdoor scenes (on Father’s Day) show a light covering of snow on hillsides, roads and mountain backdrops. Really? It is hotter than hell in June in New Mexico, Texas, and Sonora. It DOES NOT snow there in summer. Was this somehow intentional to add to the weirdness or what? Not sure but if not...not cool man... Fantastic cast and great looks, but if you can´t connect with the people and story it is all in vain. I am on episode 5 and struggling. I don´t care about this people and don´t really get the story. I am curious what went wrong with this castFantastic cast and great looks, but if you can´t connect with the people and story it is all in vain. I am on episode 5 and struggling. I don´t care about this people and don´t really get the story. I am curious what went wrong with this cast and that extreme capability with the visuals. Is it lack of understanding the work of the actor and all emphasis on the visuals? Or was it overly thought out on the way to brilliancy so it lost connection with the simple rules of storytelling? I really tried to connect with these people and fantastic looking scenes. But it seems to cross a line in it´s efforts and sadly turns out to be limp and pretentious. Hope these clearly capable visuals makers manage to tell a story in their next attempt. Expand
