If you are a male, you NEED to watch this show (mainly because its main characters are two males). I'm not even saying you "should" or you "must" watch this show. Longest running sitcom ever on Channel 4. No surprises, possibly my favourite TV show, why?
Its funny, clever and greatly acted by Mitchell and especially Webb.

I wanted to hate this show. It is vile, offensive to women, filled with references to illicit drug use and promiscuous sexual encounters, all the things your first feminist lesbian college professor warned you about on the day you reclaimed your manhood by walking out and giving a room full of hairy-armpitted freshmen girls the finger. I love it. What is there to say? Mark is the pictureI wanted to hate this show. I love it. What is there to say? Mark is the picture of narcissistic insecurity. Good ole' Jezzer is the perfect combination of idiot and Jackhole. (I think you know what I mean.) As a woman, I am intrigued by the storytelling ability of the writers and actors on this series, to make me laugh time and again, to the point of having to stop the program and find my breath again, in spite of myself, in spite of my gender, in spite of my ability to look at these men knowing full well I would not lay hands on any part of their anatomy under any circumstances and, still, find them utterly charming. If I love it that much, at least one third of the female population would and, guaranteed, ninety percent of men. It is a retelling of The Odd Couple, if The Odd Couple spent their lives in pursuit, simultaneously, of career advancement/sexual gratification, a serious long-term relationship with a pretty yet boring girl/sexual gratification with a Mary Jane chaser, the acquisition of property via marriage without love or the sectioning of an old friend/sexual gratification with any female who happens by at any given moment and some beer and some drugs and a good go around of what passes for conversation with Super Hans (band-mate and addict). Give it a try. Remasculate yourself. Expand

For anyone enjoying the humor of Arrested Development or 30 Rock, this is another *great* show. Superb chemistry, hilarious story lines and characters. Commit to watching the first 3 episodes, and you'll be hooked.

A show about the daily struggles with embarrassment and issues of competency, pecking order, the vagueries of the liberal arts vs. the demands of business, talent vs. hard work, the evolutionary compulsion to mate and/or climax.

Not for those who live in a world of superheroes and Hallmark greeting cards. Not for men who are actually Mark and Jeremy. Not for The Office's David Brent or Michael Scott. For anyone who appreciates these characters or who knows a George Costanza (Larry David) .

THE most tightly-written TV show, different from but right up there with Veep and 30 Rock. In total agreement with CDA's "NEED."

CDA is correct in that there is something about this show that appeals most strongly to men. It is also interesting to note he used the word "literally" in his review as the characters in this program use that word excessively. Despite that, the show is pretty entertaining. You are likely to see bits of people you know in these characters.

Absolutely this show is the funniest I've seen in long time. Agree with the other reviews the content is relate-able by any guy who is in his post 20s. Just found it on Hulu and watched 5 out of 6 seasons immediately until my computer literally melted down. Can't wait to see the sixth season!

From this premise the show manages to produce cringe worthy comedy at its very best often matching anything seen in The Office or The Inbetweeners (which are also excellent of course). It is just a shame we only get six new episodes a year. Expand
