It's worth taking the time to log in to metacritic to support this show. Best show I've seen all year- seriously. It's probably not for everyone, but I loved the quirky sense of humor and the long awkward jokes. I couldn't stop watching! Please make a season 2!

This is a fantastic show. Fans of the Coen Brothers, Bunuel and other surrealists will enjoy this thought-provoking, well written and superbly acted series. Give it a few episodes before making any judgements. It really comes into its element about five episodes in. Loving it!

This is the best, most original show I've seen in a very long time. I don't remember a show that reminded me of the Coen brothers, Wes Anderson, and Martin McDonagh as this one, and it is impeccably fresh.

Wow. I can't remember a series with so many distinctive and watchable characters. It's wild and risky and mind expansive like some good LSD. Hilarious and bent. Inspiring. Like dark Wes Anderson.

There are so many brilliant moments to this wonderfully weird new series -- it operates on a less than linear trajectory but if you are willing to go with it --the quirkiness of it -- there is a plot worthy of attention. I love the cinematography -- the dialogue -- it's a refreshing departure from the formulaic dramas out there.

'Patriot' is one helluva show ! It's not 'Fargo', 'The Americans' & 'Homeland' all blended together as some critics have pointed out ( in my humble opinion ). The Cohen's created a masterpiece when they made the film 'Fargo' back in '95. The offering by FX ( the TV show ) does capture like the film did the aestheticizing of the absurd and the banal and the mundane things life offers and does to you. 'Patriot' is also going for something like that but it retains a very unique vibe.
It has a tonal consistency and tells a story about..well..it's a spy story, it went about telling an absurd tale in an equally endearing absurd manner. It's unlike any show I've seen on TV, it has the dark humor like 'Fargo', i wouldn't however say it's like Fargo, because it isn't.
I did not like or care much about the show 'Transparent' which every critic seems to be raving about, I did enjoy 'Sneaky Pete',
'Patriot' - it's the best show Amazon has put out there so far and it's insanely entertaining. Watch it and revel in its twisted world.

The 68 score from critics is an outrage. Patriot is edgier and damn well funnier than nearly every other spy show out there. I love The Americans and wish it had half the black comedy of Patriot. The concrete donut scene is episode 8 is Emmy-worthy.

Beautifully shot, perfectly rendered and one of the best shows in years. Dorman plays the Sun the rest of the eccentric characters revolve around. The music (both original and borrowed) provides the a perfect sonic companion. Quirky, artfully spaced, hilarious and at times poignant, this is a show I happily took my time with and didn't want to end.

Season 1 is great! It feels new, fresh, acting is solid. Interesting mix of artsy music, action, dram, and whatnot. Season 2 is horrible.

It's a quirky, fun pickle of a rollercoaster ride. This is not your father's spy series. Conrad shifts tones seamlessly and the performances are subtly sublime. If they ever create an awards show that celebrates the best of television, "Patriot" should be called the best show of all times.

This was a better Burn After Reading, with more than a splash of The Royal Tenenbaums, quirky almost to a fault, but breathtaking in it's ceaseless impunity, I highly recommend this show & it's entire season, hope it gets brought back for another turn next year.

Patriot is an amazing mind-bending mind-bleep of a drama/dark-comedy about a CIA field agent who secretly works in a WI company with international connections. Amazon's Patriot is highly original, and extremely bold and forceful. Amazon's Patriot is highly original, and extremely bold and forceful. Many scenes are hard to watch, but it's harder to look away because so much thought and detail has gone into the production of every scene. It's darkly funny, because situations are often funny when things don't quite fit with the normal order of things. Patriot is sensitive because the tough main character is sometimes almost broken by his experiences, and sings too-revealing folk songs that are both chilling and funny, Patriot (likely) exaggerates the violence entailed in this very real line of work that is now part of the modern world. But, it can be thought of as a projection of U.S. CIA policies in Latin America in earlier decades, superimposed onto the modern era. The Patriot is Amazon's best series ever, even including season 2 of The Man in the High Castle. All the many people who worked on it, from the writers to the grips, deserve to feel proud of the unique and emotionally forceful result. Expand

One of the most well done and enjoyable shows made. It does not fall short on any aspect and will make you laugh as well as feel so very sad. So much talent is displayed through acting, camera angles, music and more. It even makes fun of sexism with a bunch of small d*cks, what more could you ask for?

The script, the dialogues, the richness of the characters, the acting and the refined, sharp cinematography all push clichés and tropes aside to deliver a new unique piece of art. Real art, not binge TV.
That puts shows like bloated, self-important and pontificating shows like Fargo or The Americans (referred to by other critics) miles behind.
The only problem is the atrociously bad French of the supposedly Luxembourgeois characters. I hope this will be fixed for season 2.

9's and 10's are studio shills, and it's so obvious. Anyway, I endured 3, hour-long episodes of what was supposed to be a promising geopolitical mini-series. Instead, it's a slow-paced character study of an aloof assassin. Such a waste of an opportunity. I'm so disappointed, especially after having just finished a good Amazon mini-series "Goliath". Don't. Waste. Your. Time.

1 year ago the pilot didn't do it for me (and stopped half-way), but now the extended one took me by surprise. Couldn't stop watching til i finished the entire season. Great show, very funny, excellent main character and casting. Many memorable WTF moments. One of the best shows from Amazon by far.
