Outer Range is of the mixed genre modern-western, science-fiction. If you do not enjoy one of those genres, you probably won't enjoy Outer Range.

The casting, acting, directing, editing, cinematography are all very good. I'm withholding judgement on the writing. The plot and the overall story arc are obviously developing and are in set-up phases this being the first season. If you

The plot and the overall story arc are obviously developing and are in set-up phases this being the first season. If you require your TV series to answer all questions by the end of each episode, you will be very disappointed. You may as well accept it may take several seasons to receive closure on various things that happen in the first season.

The plot is not simple and the issues it raises are not simple. If you don't like to think too much when watching film you probably will not enjoy Outer Range.

A good start for these first two episodes. Mysteries, convincing actors (Josh Brolin at the top). Promising series. I don't understand the 60 meta from the pros.

Comparing it to Yellowstone is dumb. This far superior show simply uses the cowboy life as a poignant reminder of our "negative" freedom (freedom of external forces) to emphasize our "positive" freedom (free will). Of course, it's also copying Lost's original concept of "realistic irrationality" (or is it the other way around?) but it improves on the delightiful feeling of dread andComparing it to Yellowstone is dumb. Of course, it's also copying Lost's original concept of "realistic irrationality" (or is it the other way around?) but it improves on the delightiful feeling of dread and despair it suffuses thanks to a much more focused approach on a few characters and a few so-called existential questions of freedom, nihilism and religion.

The photography and cinematography is superb. Acting and editing, excellent as well. But that is not enough for our....American woketard critics who gave a low score as their primary school scorecards of so-called minorities returned all but one measly lesbian "native" American sheriff. Surely the showrunners will want to kowtow to the Red Guard by adding one transgender handicapped black teen in the next season.

Outer Range is a combination of a big family feud meets Supernatural suspense with a murder element to kick up the dust. It's a Western, but so much more and Brolin delivers a gritty and tough performance as Royal. I'm drawn in and blown away by the way this was put together to draw all these niches into one amazing and captivating series. It started out fairly interesting, but turned into an asinine rendition of Twin Peaks by the 6th Episode. Amazingly, there isn't a single likeable character on the show. If you are a fan of camp and looking for a good laugh - albeit unintentional - then the show might work for you.

I like syfy but the plot is simple and tries to be way more than it is. The introduction of stupid people doing stupid things as though such things are normal is boring. The production is very slow and injected with classic scary parts as though this was a Hallmark production of Syfy - Heaven forbid!

It's a decent show but does seem to lack focus. I'm excited to see a season 2 that can improve upon the first.

Always weird, sometimes annoying, but frequently fascinating, Outer Range has Yellowstone's same sense of a cowboy family unaware that it has lived out its time—but in this case, the encroachment is not being done by modernity, but something antediluvian that's returned for a possession it left behind.

Flashes of dark humor and just plain surrealness keep the show from stalling, but it's a slow burn with many burning questions. Throughout the crowding subplots, it's hard not to think: Can we just get back to that giant hole in the ground, please?

What meaning does anything hold next to the nothing of oblivion? The question courses through Outer Range, an alluring exploration of lives and lands that have been all but annihilated.
