This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you expected to see a coming of age story that has quite a bit of realism, you're not going to get it. This season takes us to murder plots, attempts that fail, and actual murder, point shaving brought about by threats by an illegal gambling syndicate, frightening violent stalkers, a problem pregnancy that could kill the mother, a teachers sleeping with a teenager, an 18 year old pregnancy but it's ok she was married prior to getting pregnant (lol) and a son who finds out his father is a murderer. Personally, I like that this is nothing like real life & real teenage dramas. It makes the show interesting & action packed. It really makes it a fantasy-drama. There are some coming-of-age-plots like losing virginity, how best friends deal with betrayal & cheating, prom & graduation. Cool. It's nice to have that interwoven with the fantasy-drama. One Tree Hill makes for interesting viewing, enough realism to get into it & enough unrealistic plot-lines to create drama & suspense. Expand

From season 1 to season 4 the show has been grade, because it had a direction, and it followed it with strenght and memorable moments. After the pause, the seasons 5 and 6 were good as well. Not as good, but at least they didn't lose grip in respect to the first 4. It's not usual to see the character you liked so many years later in a show, and that was the plus point. But then, after the season 6, all the good that had been done was ruined with two useless seasons, with new characters, too much sentimental. The last season was not the worst, but well...who cares after the mess made in the previous two? Expand

While the whole series was phenomenal, Season 4 was by far the best! This season is where all of the series' drama intensifies and the plot becomes very prominent. You will laugh, cry, and cheer all in a single episode. I became so addicted that I couldn't sleep at night because each episode ended with an intense cliffhanger. I became so addicted that I couldn't sleep at night because each episode ended with an intense cliffhanger. This season is the last season of their "youth" since Season 5 fast forwards to several years later, so many life changing events take place. Just when you think things are starting to return to normal, something insane happens and blows your mind! I would consider this season to be the most intense and most important to the whole storyline of the show. I don't want to reveal any spoilers, but I would recommend this show to absolutely anyone. My teenage brother and my mother both watched this show with me and were just as intrigued in it as I was. Expand
