The concept is interesting if not derivative of other similar plots. There's enough artistic smoke to make it better than the plot deserves so I guess kudos to the director. Ettinger was just a bad actor and leaned on whatever physical thing he was trying to pull off. He was all over the place and it was distracting. He was hard to root for. While Kadyx, I was rooting for her as I get it, black woman cop on a predominantly white police department. The problem is that you need to show that there is some systemic racism there for her little schpiel to her trainor. She was not oppressed in any way and her accusations against him when he tried to be inclusive and celebrate a win, were themselves racist and sexist. All that blathering about microaggressions and affirmative action and in the end, the guy actually learned a lesson that she refused to acknowledged. So any success is dashed simply because she says so. It's very typical of the **** narratives of today and it's why people like her fail. Then I read her stupid IMDB bio and it explained it all:

Nobody wants to work with a person this far up their own ass. You think way too highly of yourself and I predict you will not go far in your career. Who wants to work with a person who's only goal is to disrupt the production and try to catch somebody doing or say something that offends her. None of these things is a reason to dislike her, but rather the culmination of them is what ends careers before they can begin. This person is insufferable and it had an impact on the bottom line of this limited series. It's insane that they were allowed to worm this **** into the story where it had no place.… Expand
