Season 7 felt like a weak imitation of the original. It lost the "magic" that made the first 6 seasons so much fun to watch. Most of the characters that I had come to know and love were gone. They also felt miss-cast which just added to the inability to accept them in the rolls they played. Once Upon a Time Season 7 lost its innocence. The beloved world of storybook characters who resolved their issues with purple smoke and two-way mirrors disappeared and darker overtones were allowed to seep into the script. It became blatantly obvious that the show had been hijacked to push a political liberal agenda which had already planted its seed in season 6. Mild irritation turned to annoyance to disgust and finally to anger. By the last third of the season, rather than eagerly awaiting the next episode, I found myself just vaguely listening to the storyline while doing other things. I just wanted it to come to a final conclusion. I just wanted it to end! Such a disappointment that the last season is also the last impression of what had been such a delightful and entertaining series. Expand

With the departure of three of the main cast members "Once Upon A Time" has taken a major nosedive when it comes to story lines and characters. Replacing Emma and Regina's teenage son with an adult actor was a dumb idea. ABC should have just ended this show last year.

The seventh season of Once Upon A Time is not just an underwhelming and desperate reboot of the show, but an unnecessary spin-off. Without most of the main characters, it's hard to connect with the new additions. The new incarnations of popular characters (previously introduced) and another worlds and stories are a weak way to rebuild the series.

Hey gang! Let’s turn all the classic fairy tales into one giant soap!

Excuse me while I lose my dinner.

    Addendum: Canceled! Finally!

Rebooting was a good idea. I was so discouraged by the series, but the mood returned with the new storyline. Alice and Regina best characters so far!!

A very good start and, most of all, it leads in new directions. New cities, new characters, new villains. I especially like the fact Henry's past comes around with him having to deal with being parent.

It was really boring, repeat story again?? come on! Cinderella was not good enough, the stepmother same as devil's dress prada, nothing original in this time

I see that they are trying to created a new show, and working with what they have. But it's the same storyline, different people, different jobs. This show is so negative, down, depressing, and most of all boring. The actreas that plays Cinderella is a weak actress. They should have quit while they were ahead.

Really enjoying the new cast and location. I think it works, and it kept it from just being a repeat of the past few seasons.

This show is not bad, and yet not good not close to as good as the first seasons, see the first seasons were well written, i myself would get invested in the story and couldn't stop watching the show, here's my issue, this story has taken characters that worked once, and ruined them instead of sticking to them and using them to their advantage, characters like the regina were complex andThis show is not bad, and yet not good not close to as good as the first seasons, see the first seasons were well written, i myself would get invested in the story and couldn't stop watching the show, here's my issue, this story has taken characters that worked once, and ruined them instead of sticking to them and using them to their advantage, characters like the regina were complex and diverse they would show that things are not black and what there is a middle ground, throughout her story her personality gets more complex.
in this show they have taken characters and changed everything we knew and loved about them, regina who used to be evil and good at the same time, is not a white knight as if the conflict died, gold who used to be a "know it all" character that looked at the whole picture and was one step ahead of every other character is now normal.
in addition to that the new characters are not very interesting to me, i don't know why i just haven't been attracted to them the way i was to the older characters plus the "new" characters cinderdella and alis were used before and yet had different actors and personalities instead of thinking of something new they changed something old, in addition i find it unlikely that Henry would not believe the curse, I know that they tried to change things up but that is not the way, he was shown to us as the believer, not because of his age but because of who he is, before he was the author that's what made him special and I'm so irritated that they took that trait away from him and gave it to another character.
i know I'm giving the show such a hard time but after such good 6 seasons i expected better. sorry.

I was not sure about the whole rebooting the show but this season was pretty enjoyable but it is probably my least favorite season. Maybe choosing other actresses to play Jacinda and Lucy would be right. They hardly convinced me in the drama.
At first, yes, the story seems to be the same. But gradually it begins to have significant differences.
The focus should be bigger on Drizella, she deserved to stay until the last episode. Certainly the old characters should gain more prominence in the penultimate episodes,

Certainly the old characters should gain more prominence in the penultimate episodes, after all, they were the beloved protagonists for six seasons, but only had one, very little to be worth appearing.
At one point, it caught my attention completely, perhaps because I thought it would be despicable, but it remained Once Upon A Time.
In the whole of the work, it deserves an 8, interesting enough.
But that's just my opinion. Don't blame me.

Horrible!. I got into this with my daughter, who was 7 at the time. Maybe the original seasons were the same as the closing seasons, but i dont remember it. Here's what I DO know: the show became a fairy tale soap opera that overused flashbacks to look witty. The truth is that unneeded plots and storylines aren't fun. With the reboot, all main cast now has a 3rd personality. That means we get to see new cast all over the place to catch up.

And why do the conflicts in the past need to resurface in the present? Can't two foes just never cross paths in the modern timemine? The Wicked Queen knows everyone. While wickedly ruling her world she managed to randomly get into any other world and pull her antics as well. Weak weak writing.

Messy as a whole, very cheesy, bad acting from Cinderella’s character and her daughter Lucy. Did not care at all for the villains introduced, plot holes to kill for, and lacks the magic that made the first season so magical and mystically beautiful. Terrible and simplistic ending for a beautiful
show, you can see that they didn’t plan on being cancelled, as the ending was rushed and extremely forced. The political agenda didn’t help either.

I don't like how they emasculated Henry into a simp.
    And it is simply unwatchable.

One problem with the new season is we have too few favorites left and not nearly enough time with them.
