May 12, 2023This special is hilarious as Nick goes through many embarrassing moments in his life.

Even if Kroll doesn’t spill the tea on what happened on set here, he’s still more than willing to open his big mouth with embarrassing details from his own life. As he says: “Guys, we are all just doing our best.” His best is better than OK.

He has keen observational powers, but in Little Big Boy, they are almost wholly devoted to what it feels like when your bowels go awry. ... The shame of those experiences and Kroll’s depression after a particularly brutal breakup are the highlights of Little Big Boy. ... The momentum of those opening stories starts to falter toward the end as Kroll shifts into a more straightforward retelling of the past several years of his life.

Kroll’s Netflix debut is another strong entry from him to the streaming service’s canon, and proves after a lively career of personas and characters, he’s just as willing to look within.
