There's so many cooking competition shows that it seems there are few variations of the same concept. Fox tried the CSI approach last summer with the Joel McHale hosted Kitchen Detectives (or whatever it was called) that was entertaining. Now Fox has turned to their cooking mega god, Gordon Ramsey, for Next Level Chef. Someone apparently saw the Netflix film The Platform and thought a cooking competition could be made with that concept. Three levels of kitchens are stacked atop another in descending order.The top level gets the best equipment and choice of ingredients, the bottom level has serviceable equipment and has to choose the leftover ingredients from the two levels above.It truly is the concept behind that sci-fi program and I give the producers credit for somehow blending class warfare into a cooking competition. And in that regard, it is what it is. I guess Squid Game:Kitchen Edition is next.… Expand

It's ok for a while but once you get past the gimick, it doesn't really bring anything new that we haven't already seen a thousand time. It really only needed to be a single season.
