The acting is awfull. The story is awfull. Do these people know what amazing shows r out there? I am looking at it now just because i am a amazed and mesmerized by the complete lack of awareness...

The show is preachy beyond words. Almost every scene villifies the free market and our current health care system. It STRONGLY advocates for socialist medicine, with no description as to how free medical care and medicine will be paid for.The show is preachy beyond words. I used to like this show until the last episode, I'm TIRED of these shows that have all these doctor's treating ppl like **** going against wishes (the DNR that was violated!!!!!!!!!!!) is absolutely horrendous!!!! Then recycled ptsd, drug abuse, take a guys wife then his tv star head of the department rule the world girlfriend....make her temporary disabled. The money drama for the hospital,over the top. Might stay for awesome deaf surgeon and her assistant.… Expand

For the longest time I had been searching for a show to replace House M.D. and for awhile I thought this might be it but somewhere between the first and second seasons they stopped focusing on engaging stories and cases in lieu of makingFor the longest time I had been searching for a show to replace House M.D. and for awhile I thought this might be it but somewhere between the first and second seasons they stopped focusing on engaging stories and cases in lieu of making political or social messages in their episodes, I just want a show that pulls me out of current affairs and allow me to forget what's going on in the world but it seems like this show wants to slam your face right in it every 15 or so minutes.

The good things it has going is the characters are very engaging and the actors and actresses perform very well in the roles and when they choose to the stories and cases are actually really good, I particularly like Iggy Fromme's character but everytime I start to get just a little immersed he will be "making a statement".

It's a long shot but should the writers ever read this, you have a good show obviously it is up to 5 seasons now but if you would just focus on the stories and not the message you are shoving down our throats you would have a great show that could stand toe to toe with other medical dramas so for all the reasons listed I can't give it more than a 3 because as my teachers told me about plays and acting is that a great story makes you forget you aren't part of the story.… Expand

Think that new amsterdam is so much better than many other medical series our there and definitely on par with Chicago med.
