May 5, 2020I was having mixed feels in the beginning, but the show gradually became good. But there are some stereotypical stuff about Indians which I hated, especially the one with Ganesh Puja festival. That episode was disgusting af.

Apr 28, 2020Predictable, worn out hollywood template. For young teens probably good enough to watch, otherwise, no.

May 6, 2020Terrible show with clunky characters. As an Indian I got really disgusted at the 80s era stereotypes on religion and arranged marriages. What a trainwreck

Apr 28, 2020The story is a refreshing tale of a teen balancing her life and finding her identity as an Indian-American. it might seem generic at first but once you actually start watching, the story will warm your heart and the characters are sure to win you over. Personally, as an ethnic minority, I love the show for its non-forced representation.

May 1, 2020Loved it! Some of Mindy Kaling's best work. Frustrating and quirky and endearing characters, with a sometimes tough story to laugh and cry through. Enjoyable and entertaining.

Jan 17, 2023Never have I ever
Effortlessly handles its humour and dramatic themes, with a well handled representation of South Asian culture. With characters that feel juvenile, this **** story is nuanced and very entertaining.

With Kaling involved, if you thought it would be funnier than Never Have I Ever turns out to be, you wouldn’t be alone. The dollops of “sweet” and rare laughs are especially hard to come by in the first few episodes.

Though not a perfect ride and likely to be overhyped out of starvation mode for any teen comedy resembling the actual diversity, horniness, and profanity of being a teenage girl, Never Have I Ever gets there, eventually. The series’ back half settles into a storyline balancing emotional depth with outbursts, and what emerges is a moving and original portrait of a teenage girl grappling with grief. It’s a bummer that it couldn’t have arrived at this version faster.

Never Have I Ever is just about as perfect of a teen TV comedy as you can get.
