Literally the best series Netflix could offer. Season 1 is when Pablo was living the life, and than Season 2 came out and the table turned. The more Pablo ran away, the more and more Los Pepes and DEA came closer. I was surprised on how this season turned out to be. Narcos proves that they keep the great story going and great action coming. It's an incredible show.

Elevated by an understated performance by Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar, the second season is also more tense, personal and riveting than the already impressive first season.

Narcos is vast, gorgeous, intelligent and rates to me 10 stars. Theres frequent gang violence and activity but its beautifully acted out and explained visiting the different worlds of Escobar, the DEA, the Army and his enemies. Some of the best television Ive ever seen.

Having such a heavy focus on just one side made the other very boring and it just wasn't the same show imo. They definitely suffered with the weak and uninteresting sub plots as well, Especially with Search Bloc.

One of the best shows out there. This season is even more intense than the first one and Wagner Moura plays the role of Escobar incredibly well and so do Holbrook and Pedro Pascal

All Pablo Escobar wanted to do was live quietly with the wife and kids, smoke a little weed and run his cocaine business like the tough boss he was. It’s just that other people kept preventing him from doing that. And so there were years of murder and mayhem in Colombia.

Season 2 of Narcos (now streaming on Netflix) is a magnificent continuation of the dramatization of Escobar’s life and times. It is a tad more focused on being an outright thriller, but it remains a multilayered story with a serious political and social subtext. The first season had the saucy tag line “There’s No Business like Blow Business,” and there were gun battles and cocaine-fuelled craziness, but it was also a cautionary tale about American greed and the ease with which democracy can be undermined by the ruthlessness of business. When we last left Escobar (played with truly remarkable skill and subtlety by Wagner Moura), he was in prison, but a cozy one that he was able to treat as a guest house. Now, he’s out. “The fox was out of the cage and the hunt was on,” Drug Enforcement Administration agent Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) says in a droll voice-over. And indeed, an early scene of his escape with hundreds of police searching for him is deeply telling. He’s the boss, so he walks past soldiers who think of him as an immortal, a figure from mythology. The second season pivots on the shift in the Colombian government’s decision: Enough is enough. Escobar must be captured. The mayhem that he causes must cease. What we see is a man who feels deeply insulted and patronized. He has done so much for the poor. He has made a lot of money. It is the attitude of a born leader, a man who knows that he has a grip on the people and those against him don’t really have a conscience. Thus, what we get is a portrait of a disruptor. He could be a terrorist or he could be a left-wing champion of the people. But nobody has elected him. And so the story that plays out is about power and how a government can deal with fierce opposition that can undermine it. That assertion remains under the surface of this second season. In fact, taken together, the two seasons amount to a startling achievement in long-form TV storytelling. Narcos is an epic thriller about a compelling villain and a narrative of deep seriousness about power, drugs and how the United States deals with South America. It is insightful, angry, revisionist, well-argued and formidably entertaining.

This show is honestly just the best show in the world. I binged the first season countless times that I lost count. When season 2 came out I watched literally the second it came out and all I can say is...WOW. This combines drama, sex, suspense, and action, a great combination for a great show. I'd rate this show 100 out of 100!

This is for both Season 1 and 2 of Narcos.

A remarkable telling of the life of Pablo Escobar by a great actor named Wagner Moura.

Originally I thought the show as only about Pablo Escobar. Since Mr. Escobar died in the 90s I didn’t think the show itself would go more than two seasons so I would review at the end of the series, like I did Hand of God. Then he died and Netflix is moving on with the Cartels, so here is probably a good stopping point to review.

Like all TV shows, it glamorized and filtered through the lens of Hollywood, even with that, I thought it was a decent three-dimensional view of Pablo Escobar. Of course, I don’t know him personally, but I have read about him and it felt like a fairer view, even with the glossy candy coating it got.

I appreciated that it showed he was a human, not just a monster. Maybe this is because I came from a family (both blood and not blood) that was involved illegal activity when I was a child, but there is no “bad” only person. Society may not agree with a person, but it doesn’t mean that the dealer/killer/arsonist/etc. doesn’t love other people, want to help other people and that they don’t make human mistakes. I always hate the idea of an “all bad” villain, because it isn’t true. Like a show I used to watch said a lot, “Everyone is the hero of their own story”. No one thinks of themselves as evil.

The part of the show I didn’t like was how his wife was handled. I don’t know personally of his relationship, but having grown up in a similar scene I don’t believe there is any way that his wife wasn’t fully aware and complicit, or at the very least aware and tolerant of it. Personal experience says there is no way that remains a secret, and in fact my experience most spouses work together.

Other than that, I enjoyed the series, I liked how it showed both sides and I would recommend seeing it.

Pros: The acting was great, the story tight and interesting the whole time.

Cons: I was just sad to see Wagner Moura no longer in the show.

I will definitely follow up with Season 3, I look forward to more stories

In retrospect, this isn't quite as gripping as the previous season, although that was always gonna be a very high bar to clear. This is not to say it is bad though and it remains, in my opinion, one of Netflix's best offerings. It is one of the best crime dramas I've seen; only a smidgen below my favourite (Breaking Bad). It's so gripping and well-paced and just leaves you wanting more.In retrospect, this isn't quite as gripping as the previous season, although that was always gonna be a very high bar to clear. Sometimes, when I rewatch shows, I start to notice the flaws more now that I'm beyond the initial fanfair. Narcos 100% still holds up and is well worth watching for any 'serious' TV fan. Prestige TV done right.

What works in the early going of season two is that the fall is almost always more thrilling, if not engaging, than the buildup. Escobar senses the loss of power and Moura does some of his best work as viewers read the worry and interior thinking on his face.
