As always I will start with the special episodes: This season they do only best of special episodes. In planes, trains and automobiles they do a best of of their favourite myths in that category. The location, location, location episode is a best of of their favourite locations and myth that was tested there. Finally in wet and wild they do a best of of water related myths. Overall this should be disappointing but it is again a good chance to catch up with things you missed and I must lie if I dislike the episodes (A bit of nostalgia?). Overall I find the special episodes a bit weaker than in previous seasons. The normal episodes on the other hand a more than enough to balance this out. They tested the long awaited Mission Impossible mask myth. If you don't know they used mask in the series and movies to assume other persons identities for infiltration, information gathering and more. In the same episode they tested if you can knock a dropped gun out of the way with bullets and if you can start a playground merry go round by shooting at it. They tested the running on water myth (No not Jesus) and what is bombproof. There is a test if the Syrians designed a kind of torpedo in 13th century as based on historic documents. The myth if you can blow your own sail was interesting. Im still puzzled about the theory how it worked. They returned to the spy cars and tested new methods to disable enemy cars. Then there is the can you dodge a bullet myth. I like the test because they hired also an army sniper for support and his skills are impressive. The test for fixing a flat tire are crazy but fun. A favourite of mine is the paper armour test. It was actually a thing in China and now the practicality will be tested. Then came a test from the movie Red. Can a handgun stop a bazooka. Bonus knowledge: The comic original of Red is much better than the movie (Its a name only adaptation). The main character could be the inspiration for John Wick and I would not bet my money on John in a one on one battle. The next highlights are the excavator test and the duct tape plane. All tests are so awesome. In C4 cook off they tested if you can burn C4 and use it for cooking (Crazy but fun). They tested the famous flying guillotine weapon based on a legend. It is a Chinese weapon but I think it was also used in martial arts movies. Now comes a myth we discussed a lot. The Monty Hall problem. They did a good job in testing and explaining it. They tested various firearm shooting styles some from movies. They ended the season with the toilet bomb test (Lethal Weapons 2) and if the plane V formation saves fuel with an acrobat flight club. Overall this was an excellent combination of myths and again a season worth watching. Full Review »
