I might sound like a voice recorder but Season 8 has again a fine mixture of special and normal episode. Because I had always started with the special episodes I will continue this tradition: They started with Duct Tape Hour 2. Like I said before the duct tape episodes are a highlight of the Mythbusters. They even said they could make a whole season just with duct tape myths and it is believable. Here they tried to build a bridge, fix a car and stop a car. Then there is a best of episode with their top 25 Mythbusters moments. This is a good episode to catch up things you missed in earlier seasons / episodes. There is a crossover episode with the Storm Chasers. It is still interesting even if you didn't watch their show like me. The bug special was uninteresting for me but I will say that is just me not a problem for the episode or show. The last is the Green Hornet special with great tests. Overall they delivered as always. For the normal episodes: The myth that you can kill yourself if a bullet ricochets three times was tested as was if a soda cup thrown out of a car window can kill a person. I think that the shock of the impact is also a serious threat as you can swing the steering wheel. The myths if you can dive underwater to protect yourself from explosions and can you made a car bulletproof with phone-books are in one awesome episode. Remark: There is nearly nothing that is absolute bullet-prove. You can always use a better or stronger gun or ammunition. (There were even anti tank rifles in WW1). Adam and Jamie tested spy car escape gadgets (James Bond style) and even competed against each other with own solutions. The no pain no gain episode tested pain myths and has again interesting results. The next highlight was a test were the Mythbusters made a cameo at CSI (The theory of everything). In the episode there was the question if a taser can ignite a target covered with pepper spray. Of cause the fans want the Mythbusters to test this. The flu fiction tested some cold / infection myths. The contamination test for nasal secretions should enlighten you how easy it is to spread germs / diseases. They returned to another round of bloodhound myths and try to beat the bloodhound and a contraband detecting dog. Another famous myth was “You use only 10% of your brain”. I must mention the movie Lucy here which uses this myth to its full potential and has Scarlett Johansson as lead actress. The arrow machine gun was my favourite build so far. For the mini myth madness they randomly picked submitted letters from fans. Its a dream for many fans. All tested myths are worth watching. They revisited the underwater car escape myth and tested another scenario. I hope that I never encounter this in real live. Then President Barrack Obama challenged them to revisit the Archimedes death ray. Archimedes had according to legends constructed a mirror device that could ignite ships from afar. Operation Valkyrie tested if the plot to assassinate Hitler could have worked under the original planned conditions. Again this season has a lot of highlights and is worth watching (Again I sound like a voice recorder. Should go to copy paste instead ;-). Expand
