Season 12 is the end of an era. It is the last season with Kari Byron, Grant Imahara and Tory Belleci. I want to thank all of you for so many great seasons, myths and entertainment. Mythbusters was always a highlight for me and I enjoyed the show a lot. You all were a reason for it. I wish all of you good luck and health for the future. With this absolute necessary behind me lets go backSeason 12 is the end of an era. With this absolute necessary behind me lets go back to season 12. They ended this era on a high-note. Lets summarize my favourites for this season: The first episode is the Star Wars special containing the grappling hook swing, the Ewoks destruction of a walker (AT-ST) and if Luke could survive inside the Tauntaun carcass (Last one is a bit gross). The next episode is about moonshiners. They tested if you can blow up your shack and if you can use the moonshine as fuel for you car. There is again a Hollywood car car crash episode with tests if you can plow through a lane of stopped cars with a truck, a RPG vs an SUV and glass window carried by two man drive trough test. My next highlight is the Do Try this at Home? Special. I know some of the tests like black (carbon) snake and elephant toothpaste because I have a background in chemistry. The water trick is still impressing as it looks like the laws of nature are reversed. The herding cats test is enjoyable. One of my favourite myths is the bend barrel. They tested if you can shoot a gun with a bend barrel up to 180°. In the same episode the shotgun spear, the staple of the show what is bullet prove and if a firearm works in vacuum was tested. As table-tennis player the test if you can get a ping pong ball to high enough speed to inflict deadly injuries was especially interesting. In fire in the hole it was tested if you can disarm a grenade by shooting and surviving explosion by putting a bomb in multiple devices (cabinet, bed etc.). A continuation of car chase myth tested if you can push another car of the road and if you can use a Corvette as ramp like in the movie Wanted. Remark: The comic on which Wanted is based has far better ideas but is nothing that you can read if you have a weak stomach. Be warned! Laws of attraction removes some myths. The test if you get bigger tips with bigger breast size has interesting results. The traffic tricks explain the traffic jams with no visible cause you often encounter, if roundabouts are better, if for distances up to 400 miles a car or plane is better and if changing lanes is effective. For the end they tested if the plane boarding method is effective and if you can make a bullet out of a tooth that can not be detected at an autopsy. Overall again an awesome season with the downside that Kari, Grant and Tory left the show. Expand
