The Mythbusters are testing urban legends, film tropes, myths, proverbs and real life events with lot of fun and explosions. There are 2 reasons that make this show so good. The first one is the host / team. Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage are awesome. Both have multiple talents and worked as special effects designers for the movie industry They were employed by Industrial Light and MagicThe Mythbusters are testing urban legends, film tropes, myths, proverbs and real life events with lot of fun and explosions. Both have multiple talents and worked as special effects designers for the movie industry They were employed by Industrial Light and Magic which is an achievement in this industry. You should look at their Wikipedia articles because its too much to write down here. Their chemistry is amazing because they are nearly their polar opposites. Jamie is more the calm, no nonsense character with dry humour and Adam is more the hyper active, funny and spontaneous guy. The (Build) team consisting of Scottie Chapman, Kari Byron (replacement for the former), Tory Bellecci and Grant Imahara was not shown in season 1 (They started appearing in season 2 if I remember correctly). In this season they started testing myth. It is not as polished and good as the later season but still awesome. One of my favourite myths was tested in this season. The escape from Alcatraz. Based on the real life events they tested if the escape was possible. Other great myths were the penny drop from the Empire state Building (Deadly or not?), can you be electrocuted by urinating on the third rail, can a cell phone ignite a gas station, can a bullet out of ice work (I forgot in which movie this ides was used) and can you build a cannon out of a tree. There are of cause some myths that are uninteresting to some people and awesome for other. It depends on preference. Escape from Alcatraz is the only exception because the event was legendary and it still comes up today (That means I haven't found anyone who thinks it is boring). Overall this is a solid beginning for one of the best show of all time or at least the most entertaining science show in TV.… Expand
