    Following two stellar seasons My Name is Earl’s third season was a bit of a disappointment. Of course the show couldn’t simply continue to repeat what it’d done previously, but storylines involving Earl being imprisoned and later comatose (including dream sequences that were rarely funny) often drained much of the fun from the show, and the jokes simply didn’t come as quickly or land asFollowing two stellar seasons My Name is Earl’s third season was a bit of a disappointment. Of course the show couldn’t simply continue to repeat what it’d done previously, but storylines involving Earl being imprisoned and later comatose (including dream sequences that were rarely funny) often drained much of the fun from the show, and the jokes simply didn’t come as quickly or land as frequently.

    Having said all that there are still moments where the show is able to recapture what made it so good, keeping things more than watchable, and giving me hope that season will get things back on track.

    People like to complain when things get stale, but they often hate it when writers change things up. This season brings big changes to the formula that we have all come to expect, but if you can hang in there, you will find yourself loving it just as much. This is the first season, however, where I did find some of the episodes drag a little, mainly the ones that rely on the fantasyPeople like to complain when things get stale, but they often hate it when writers change things up.
