This iteration of her show is just not working. The cast is stiff, dry, and the lines are very canned. I have tried for 3 episodes and I cannot go any further. Maybe with time the show will grow but it will not be on my time.

I think the writers/producers had a great opportunity to balance Murphy's bleeding heart liberal views with her son's opposing views but instead he is portrayed as a dim-witted buffoon who works at Wolf (Fox) and they are portrayed as the messengers for the country's "basket of deplorables". I am open minded and enjoy comedy from both sides but for me I'm going to have to sit this one out because the reboot of Murphy Brown is a waste of my 30 minutes. Expand

I just want to watch a program that is entertaining, This wasn't it. There is enough outlets for politics. I want something funny or a intense drama. I expected comedy with Murphy Brown, I didn't get it.

We had great hopes for Murphy Brown but you have ruined a solid opportunity by making it a liberal propaganda show. I (and most of my friends) will not be watching it.

I was so looking forward to this revival of Murphy Brown, I was a huge fan of the original show, but I have to say it is not good. The acting is stiff, the lines seem rehearsed and mechanic, the witty political barbs are just not, the jokes are predictable and flat. I'm going to read a book and not waste my time with this show. Sorry.

Didn't even need to watch a whole episode to realize that this show sucks pretty bad. Also funny how they do one episode that's basically "ORANGE MAN AND SUPPORTERS BAD", yet the one gay character feels so forced, like there's nothing more to his character than "I like men", I as some one who is definitely not straight has to say, what a **** character, and what a **** show, no wonder whyDidn't even need to watch a whole episode to realize that this show sucks pretty bad. This is the worse TV program that has come out in a long time.....WHY would CBS think a political program is funny? If we wanted to watch this kind of garbage all we really need to do is listen to talk TV all day. Sick of politics and bashing of politicians. For goodness sake. Give it a rest ! Go back to the basics and shoe entertains programs. Not trash.

Should have cast Ray Bolger as the ever-present Strawman. Ham-handed, self-congratulatory, pat-yourself-on-the-back-for-your-self-ascribed-cleverness. This show should have stayed in the 90s, because it's as stale as their done-a-million-times-before "Wolf Network." Oh, ha ha ha. Nope.

Murphy Brown was always a Dan Quayle hating liberal, so I expected the liberal slant to the scripts.

The cast has not aged well, and their cosmetic surgery is pretty obvious and obnoxious. The “acting” if one could call it that, lacks proper comedic timing and finesse. Tyne Dailey is probably the best actor on the show but as a supporting player she cannot carry the show alone. Miss

Miss the Eldin and Phil characters, but sadly they passed on.

In the old series, Murphy spoke truth to power. Now she just spouts tired liberal propaganda. Just like Will and Grace, this series should never have been taken out of mothballs.

News says this reboot was always planned to be a 13 episode short season and it still has a chance for renewal. Put this sitcom back in the archives, it doesn’t play well in 2018.

I love the original Murphy Brown, with the titular character being one of my all time favorite characters, and was looking forward to it tackling the Trump era. it's too one sided and political to be interesting to a wide swath of people. It almost feels like this should have aired during the Clinton era.

I loved the original show & was looking forward to watching the new one. Boy was I disappointed. This is nothing but a liberal, anti-Trump version of CNN. After last nights show, 11/22/18, I will not be watching another one. Keep politics out of it & stop bashing the conservatives & it might be worth watching. Comedy should be funny & not at the expense of others. I want the originalI loved the original show & was looking forward to watching the new one. Boy was I disappointed. The revival of Murphy Brown is the best sitcom out there right now. It is sharply intelligent, didatic, meaningful, poignant, topical, and it is what society needs right now. It is a great show that is impactful and deconstructs many issues with the use of humor and excellent acting from its cast. I am confounded at the media's lukewarm reaction considering Murphy Brown is far better in quality and complexity than the majority of comedies out there right now. The show is brave and I am so proud of the producers & cast. I hope the series can continue and it is so much better than any of the other revivals. It is Emmy-worth, socially conscious, and television at its finest. Expand

It's not perfect but it's pretty true to the original. All the characters feel like you would think they are. The newer characters are a little worse although Phil's replacement is pretty spot on.

Surpassed my expectations. Opposite of the "Roseanne" revival. Can't compare to Will and Grace update. Loathe umpf but the jokes were perfect and I laughed at all of them for the first time ever. After a day of the judiciary committee ramming through another traitor, it's what I needed. Glorious. Poignant. Transported to the "old days" waiting for Dan Quayle to show up in a future episode. Needed. Reprieve from life. Laughter in a world where that's pretty much gone. Gracious thanks.

I don't understand why the show was criticized.

I don't mind it. I've always liked Candice Bergen. I think some of the acting is a bit over done, to the extent where it looks overly rehearsed, but in comparison to some other modern comedy sitcoms that should have been cancelled a LONG time ago, I think the new Murphy Brown is okay. I think the timing is good for this show.

The characters gripe about aging and its indignities, with Corky Sherwood, the Miss America alumna (played by Faith Ford), unsettled by menopause, for instance. Her jokes about hot flashes are so dated that they seem plucked from the original show’s discarded drafts.

Ford and Regalbuto aren’t given enough new things to do and Charles Kimbrough (who played Jim Dial) checks in long enough to let you know he’s still around. The mother/son angle is the show’s best. ... But it’s English’s smart writing that will keep them [viewers] around.

The humor is safe, edgeless, and aimed at the soft middle of America, with the exception of the political jokes, which are very obvious--and/or intended to provide Ms. Bergen with a platform for progressive diatribes, which themselves feel more than a bit forced.
