Oct 16, 2018This iteration of her show is just not working. The cast is stiff, dry, and the lines are very canned. I have tried for 3 episodes and I cannot go any further. Maybe with time the show will grow but it will not be on my time.

Oct 26, 2018I just want to watch a program that is entertaining, This wasn't it. There is enough outlets for politics. I want something funny or a intense drama. I expected comedy with Murphy Brown, I didn't get it.

Oct 26, 2018We had great hopes for Murphy Brown but you have ruined a solid opportunity by making it a liberal propaganda show. I (and most of my friends) will not be watching it.

Oct 30, 2018I was so looking forward to this revival of Murphy Brown, I was a huge fan of the original show, but I have to say it is not good. The acting is stiff, the lines seem rehearsed and mechanic, the witty political barbs are just not, the jokes are predictable and flat. I'm going to read a book and not waste my time with this show. Sorry.

Oct 4, 2018This is the worse TV program that has come out in a long time.....WHY would CBS think a political program is funny? If we wanted to watch this kind of garbage all we really need to do is listen to talk TV all day. Sick of politics and bashing of politicians. For goodness sake. Give it a rest ! Go back to the basics and shoe entertains programs. Not trash.

Oct 5, 2018Should have cast Ray Bolger as the ever-present Strawman. Ham-handed, self-congratulatory, pat-yourself-on-the-back-for-your-self-ascribed-cleverness. This show should have stayed in the 90s, because it's as stale as their done-a-million-times-before "Wolf Network." Oh, ha ha ha. Nope.

Sep 27, 2018it's too one sided and political to be interesting to a wide swath of people. It almost feels like this should have aired during the Clinton era.

Oct 13, 2018It's not perfect but it's pretty true to the original. All the characters feel like you would think they are. The newer characters are a little worse although Phil's replacement is pretty spot on.

Oct 30, 2018I don't mind it. I've always liked Candice Bergen. I think some of the acting is a bit over done, to the extent where it looks overly rehearsed, but in comparison to some other modern comedy sitcoms that should have been cancelled a LONG time ago, I think the new Murphy Brown is okay. I think the timing is good for this show.

The characters gripe about aging and its indignities, with Corky Sherwood, the Miss America alumna (played by Faith Ford), unsettled by menopause, for instance. Her jokes about hot flashes are so dated that they seem plucked from the original show’s discarded drafts.
-
Ford and Regalbuto aren’t given enough new things to do and Charles Kimbrough (who played Jim Dial) checks in long enough to let you know he’s still around. The mother/son angle is the show’s best. ... But it’s English’s smart writing that will keep them [viewers] around.

The humor is safe, edgeless, and aimed at the soft middle of America, with the exception of the political jokes, which are very obvious--and/or intended to provide Ms. Bergen with a platform for progressive diatribes, which themselves feel more than a bit forced.
