Give it a shot. I did and it is starting to grow on me and now I'm looking forward to the next episode. It's got a lot of cool concepts about witchcraft and the alternate universe is well done. Some of it looks a little low budget and tacky (especially the color hues). But once you get past that it's a lot of fun.

I've never been so invested in a Tv show before. It has fully realized characters, immersive world building, unapologetic defiance, and most of all a hard working cast who give it their all each episode. I find myself looking forward to every Wednesday.

This is a very interesting and original story, i like it. and Scylla is an extremely charismatic character, complex, everybody good, but especially her and her line.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was super hype for this series but one thing that threw me off a lil was by the editing of the trailer, it seems something completely different. For instance the cuts showing the Salem witch trials was a play that they were at for some event. It's not a dark horror series that u may expect. The cast is great and the relationship between characters is fun but that's all it's got going so far. Expand

If the first season can clear up some of the confusion and expand the world beyond the recruits, we expect things to get very interesting.

“Motherland” combines too many ideas in order to make one wildly confusing show that, despite its insistence otherwise, struggles to understand what “empowerment” actually means.

After six episodes (that’s how many Freeform made available to critics), the tone is still uneven and some of the reveals are hard to follow. Dialogue is occasionally clunky, frequently bordering on ridiculous.
