However it only gives you an idea, although it's based on a true story many parts of it have been fabricated to either make the story more dramatic or to paint the police force and justice system as all racist and homophobic. There may have been some truth to these aspects but it was overdone and clearly just another way for Netflix to push their personal biased views on others with a rewriting of true events.

I must give credit to Evan Peters on his portrayal on Jeffrey Dahmer as he done an amazing job immersing you into the series and truly making you believe you're watching a documentary and that's why I've put the score up a little.

There were little hints early on that the makers were going to be a little moralistic and “my truthy” about things, but it was forgivable and still well done and at times riveting. Then came the last few episodes. Wow, what a steaming pool of wet poop it turned into. Just endless scenes and hours of sappy, patronizing, moralizing, sophomoric crap. Expand

Masterful piece of work by Evan Peters and of course the touch of Ryan Murphy as the creative mind behind this shockingly wicked and beautiful piece of cinema

The level of detail that this show has in it made me sick because that is exactly why it is what it is.
To never forget what was done to ordinary human beings by someone as twisted as Dahmer.

Not enough of the "message" for you? This show is excellent because it dares to be weird , asking tough questions , being tough on humankind and being very nuanced at times as well . It is at the same time very woke and very anti woke , which is excellerating and welcome for a green right winger like me who is tired of all the woke goody safe zone shows out there . The acting is stellar all round , Dahmer and his dad are extremely convincing, and once again quite nuanced and layered , and his victims are actually interesting for a change , compared to similar shows . The Tony episode , it actually got to me . I felt for the guy ( they show a part of Tony's history , a deaf man) even while it also showed Dahmer at his most vulnerable. Holly woke pay attention, this show is a rare flash of realism these days and a deep dive into the gray, difficult minds of human beings with all their eccentricity. It’s a bit much on the black victimhood , I took one point for that , but still refreshing Expand

I reallly like the fact that this is such an all sides told type of story. I really hope that people take away that it’s not so much about Dahmer but more so about his victims and how he got there.

Like many crime dramas, there is always that thrill that accompanies them, the morbid curiosity, and the show plays on it well. Beyond that, it is mostly boring. However, the biggest flaw is the incessant, inane, and bat **** crazy attempt to make it all about race. The first people who were victimized were white. Many different races were targeted. The revisionist history of a "woke"-pandering hollywood is in full display in this one, to the detriment of the viewer. Dahmer was a homicidal, loser, maniac cannibal who targeted vulnerable people, drugged them to get them defenseless, then killed them and defiled their bodies. That's the story. Not a racist criminal operating in a racist city that happened to involve murder, cannibalism, and predatory behavior. For that, the show loses major points. Expand

The main draw for me was the fact that it was based on a true story. I enjoyed it. It was interesting to follow the life of Jeffrey Dahmer. The killers are generally interesting and so they are good to work with for the story, which I think worked well here. It went by quickly and I was almost sorry it was over. Not surprising when you can fit the highlights into 10 episodes. I'm just saying that it went by quickly and that I had fun. For me, a great series that I would recommend to crime genre enthusiasts. Finally some great representations of the LGBTQ community. Without that White man propaganda. I love it, all people should watch this and learn what the gay community looks like.

Pretty good show. Before watching it, I had never heard of Jeff Dahmer.
I am not fan of the back and forth in chronology, but to the maker's credit, they provided date so the spectator would not be lost. Also, some scenes, like the night club ones, could have been shorter. On the opposite, I would have liked more interrogation scenes.
Despite its qualities, the show only gets a 6 because of the heavy woke propaganda. Ok, Balcerzak was a very bad cop and the police union had too much power; this is still not a reason to push all this propaganda.

I'm really not sure what Ryan Murphy was trying to do.

Evan Peters is too expressionless to consider his performance to really stand out, but his work is good in its own right.

From what I see with its success on Netflix, the streaming giant clearly got what it wanted, but in some ways I think this show feels more like an introduction of this serial killer to modern audiences who had probably never heard of him and all the rest is merely the idea of combining the grotesque with something that could be considered entertainment.

This is an interesting and intense story about one of the scariest maniacs in America. The series shows us the vices of society, the atrocities of Dahmer and his psychological problems. I really liked the series, despite some delay towards the end.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Too slow but interesting enough if you want to see the causes of why Dahmer did what he did. Social environment and parental upbringing. Was he really born that way? Apart from the psychological aspect, the each episode is linked to each murder. It's more or less a bit of the same each episode but he just hones his craft. Top notch acting though Expand

The problem in my opinion of this series is the dispersive way in which the facts are exposed. Being a non-linear storytelling it makes you lose the thread a bit, I would have preferred a linear storytelling. It is certainly slow but I appreciate it, which makes it darker and more macabre. The being of the true Dahmer is well represented, the actor is formidable. Expand
