I had to continue to watch it to see how low the writers could go - so many people run out of gas (was it because the oil truck had no breaks?). This was the biggest waste of money I have seen in a long time.

So bad I had to watch! A collection of multiple mini stories, seriously poor acting and even worse lines all rapped up into a "oh!, by-the-way" solution to avoid a fitting end and putting this mess out of its misery.

Like others I thought this was one of the worst disaster movies I've ever seen. None of the subplots made sense and the so called twists were contrived and did nothing to make the movie interesting. Lastly the acting was atrocious and the characters' change of character or lack their of made no sense whatsoever. Horrible horrible writing.

Flipped the channel to NBC a little late trying to find something to watch there was Kennth Micthell standing on the porch of Richmond Ranch. Thought I was watching Jericho! Will watch just for that!

Horrible, just horrible. how is it that this kind of trash makes it on the air? oh, wait... that's normal these days. But I kept watching, kind of like a train wreck, couldn't turn away - maybe that's the intent, air something so terrible that people keep watching to see how bad it will get.

Gave it a "1" because Christopher Lloyd was in it albeit briefly. Woefully miscast, the acting that isn't lethargic is just plain bad. Sub plots are distracting, main plot has been done way too many times before, what a waste of air time.

I'd have given it a -8 rating, but the rating scale doesn't go negative. Absolutely the worst, horrific and piece of sci fi crap I have yet to see. They producers should be forced to take kindergarden or pre-school science classes, as most 5 year olds would know more about the actual science than these fools. And the "fooling" the Russians and Chineses into shooting the metoer I'd have given it a -8 rating, but the rating scale doesn't go negative. And the "fooling" the Russians and Chineses into shooting the metoer when it's about 100 miles above the california coast is absolutely stupid. There missiles have to come completelt around the workld, you think maybe the Chinese / Russians can't tell form a trajectory where it's going as to where the asteroid will impact? What an insult to science and any people who watched it. Can we sue the producers for the time we wasted watching this drivel? Is there a Class Action / Ambulence chaser lawyer reading this? Expand

Oh my gosh, I kept watching like a train wreck. How many things can happen to one person, or to a few people in one show. Way too over the top.

What a waste of 4 hours of my life. If this is what NBC has as writers, let them go back on strike, fire them and hire some high school kids... they couldn't do any worse.

One of the worst pieces of trash I have ever seen on television and it possesses BY FAR the stupidest plot contrivance in history in adding a bad cop seeks revenge on good cop and his family amidst an international crisis. Is NBC for real? This movie sure as hell was not. And among a cast of "I'm in it for the paycheck" performances, Michael Rooker manages to outcrap them all. This show is a joke. Up there quality-wise with the 800-dentist commercials. Just to think they reslotted Kings in favor of this pile of steaming stuff makes me wonder who's calling the shots at NBC.

I haven't seen a floater this bad since looking back in the bowl last night. A movie so bad that you had to watch just to see how low it could go. Crash and burn. I found myself rooting for the meteor.

This is the WORST PIECE OF CRAP ever to be put on the air. Did nobody look at the reels before the sets were broken down because the acting is disgusting, the lighting was amateur, and the script writer should be taken out and shot deap blank between the eyes.

A horrible waste of time. I think its hard to make a movie this bad unless you do so on purpose. That is the only explanation. Everything about it was awful. Terrible. In no way redeeming. It made me want to sell all my GE stock (NBC parent).

Have to agree that this must have been made sooooo bad on purpose because our family kept coming back to it to shout out thing like "Oh, c'mon!" and "You've got to be kidding me." Just when you think you've seen the worst, someone green lights this garbage. Makes me wonder if they make this crap just so they can say "See we made something other than reality shows and you didn't like it. So were going back to what works." I'm sticking with the Discovery channel.

  1. The formulaic story also limits what the actors can do, though Sokoloff slides nicely into the plucky reluctant heroine role.

What we expect in exchange are a few thrills, a few jolts and some convincing destruction, none of which this cheap, embarrassing film delivers.

There's much to be said for the major networks spicing their lineups with something more than just reality shows during the summer, but if Meteor represents the best they have to offer, Armageddon, come on down!
