Summary:
This groundbreaking science fiction series ran for two short seasons on ABC in the late 1980s. The show, set "20 minutes into the future," depicts a dystopian cyberpunk world where corporations (espeically television networks) have become all-powerful and technology has become pervasive into all aspects of everyday live. Matt Frewer stars as investigative TV reporter Edison Carter and as his unpredictable computer-generated alter-ego Max Headroom, a character who also appeared during the same time period in commercials for New Coke and as the host of his own talk show (which aired in the US on Cinemax, though it, like ABC's sci-fi drama series, were produced in the UK). Jeffrey Tambor and Amanda Pays also star. The DVD set (belatedly released in 2010) includes a final episode that never aired in the US.
