Alec Baldwin is both funny and witty. The format stays true to the original. Worth a watch.

I love this show. Who knew Alex Baldwin's true calling was game show host. The game itself is a complete farce full of double entendres and celebrities usually going for laughs at the expense of the contestants but the show just makes me laugh.

This is trash TV at its worst. I like a serving of garbage and as my wife begged me to change the channel I implored her to allow me to continue watching the train-wreck which is Match Game starring Alec Baldwin. Alec comes off as an elitist jerk, a style he has mastered but unfortunately the venue is not complimentary to this style like 30 Rock was. This is more like listening to a recorded message of Alec phoning his daughter to call her a "disgusting pig" for an hour.
I was hoping they were working some kinks out in the first episode-- like explaining to the guests and panel how to play the game but by the second episode possibly less progress had been made. It is common to see a contestant score 1-2 points out of 5 and still be contenders for the whopping 25k prize because they are lucky enough to make a single match. It is not unusual to see blank expressions on the contestants and celebrity panelists faces who routinely request the question read a few more times after a terribly phrased question is asked. Whoever is writing the questions should be fired.
I can't tell if Match Game is a joke ABC is playing on unsuspecting prey or if I am the last person watching ABC on Sunday and they are waiting to see if anyone says something about it? This may be the worst show on television. Match Game's not edgy, it's just crap.

Match Game is one long groan. [8-21 Aug 2016, p.17]

Match Game’s brand is loony lewdness, and there is something admirable about the liberated way the revival practices it. It’s equal opportunity lewdness; everyone one the show, straight or gay, can be as blue as they wanna be. I like how Baldwin flirts, or pretends to flirt, with female and male celebrity panelists.

For now, just as a jovial actor inhabiting an unexpected part, Baldwin is fun to watch and it's good to see him carrying over Rayburn's love for in-character clue readings, in this case a dismal-but-terrific Mick Jagger impression.
